Seems like there could be a compromise in the geometry extremes. This only happens to me when I'm going slow with an extreme angle of steering in cold or wet weather. If the steering geometry was set up for perfect Ackermann steering in this condition, the juttering wouldn't happen and we would all be relieved from this embarrassing sound. This would not affect performance driving at all since no one is driving with the wheels locked at max steering angle. Would it be possible to get an alignment to accommodate this? Or would it require re-engineering the steering geometry which wouldn't be practical for anyone other than Porsche? My dad had a Viper with gigantic wheels and I don't recall it doing this.
I guess you just have to suck it up and get over it.

You get what you get.

My first winter with the 21” and it always feels scary when I turn the car in the morning. People outside must think I’m driving a broken car.
Did not notice this last winter with the 20”

I'm no engineer and assumed Porsche would have figured the best way to engineer in the past 30+ years - turns out they did.
No I wouldn’t assume that at all. I actually am an engineer and have seen good and poor implementations in a variety of products.
Take their software implementation for starters. It lacks in many ways compared to other cars. And at the price point of Porsche, I would expect their software to be much better. My Kia is vastly easier and intuitive to use. Although I’ve never spent much time in a Tesla, they are reported to have much better software.

This horrible noise coming from the front end of the Taycan shouldn’t happen. They’ve excused it by saying it’s normal, but I bet there is a reasonable implementation that could resolve it.

Change your PZero UHP to a softer tyre that doesn't need to be as hot to work. It will be gone instantly.
E.g. the Hankoon Ion Evo doesn't do it. Same car, same size.

Yes that’s my plan when these tires wear out, but they are new so it’s going to be a while.

Technically it is a broken car 🤣 , do you have rear axle steering?
The cars with it don't do the judder

Well that data you have is incorrect because I do have rear wheel steering AND the problem.

I had 3 taycans and one Audi gt Etron with rear steering and I didn’t have this issue while on the other 4 taycans that didn’t have rear steering I would hear the judders all the time when turning cold, it’s more of personal experience with many different taycan configurations

Did you have 21” wheels on them?

Every time I explain this to passengers, I get an “uh-huh.” It hits deep. “No really, just like how those squeaky ass brakes are so performance.” I’ve had both in every dang Porsche except for my first one - ‘98 Boxter. Miss that car.

Porsche don't do EV software particularly well at all (same systems on ICE variants wiork well in my experience) but in engineering they excel at and in particular chassis and handling.

If new to the brand then this will be unsettling but for seasoned owners not as it is expected across most of the model range.

Rear wheel steering has no effect, my Turbo S with every single option (incl. the RWS) did it until I changed the Tyres for the Hankook Ions. After that it's quiet.

It's mostly to do with the tyres and temperature. Cold temp + PZero = instant judder until they warm up.
