Evening all,

I’ve notice the leather on the drivers door adjacent to the window has developed some strange marks.
Hopefully you can see from the attached.

thoughts?

My PPF shop damaged my rear door card leather exactly like this during tint redo using tint removal or other liquid (and admitted to it after I found it during my hand wash). I have been waiting on the replacement ETA and cost for 2 months and no news. I am expecting a 1 year plus wait to get the replacement or never. This is what damage looks like after leather conditioner is applied. You can see lines and rings. Yours looks like a very light scratch so I would think you can heal it with leather conditioner. My damage is very deep deforming the under foam per my Taycan tech at the dealership.

My door card replacement has arrived after 6 months wait. The damage was done by the PPF shop that they took full responsibility for and hope they will pay for it in full when this gets replaced. I am at the dealer today for the replacement. It is remarkable that the entire door card has to be replaced. The part came in fully assembled with all the leather, handle in exterior color, and even a speaker in it, so it is replaced by removing invisible screws. I will post invoice when it gets completed. The lesson here is while this was damaged by the tint tech who kept the water or tint removal liquid on top of the leather too long, do not forget to close your windows in case it is raining, as this will do the same damage and if you go for tinting or re-tinting in my case, warn the shop that any standing water, will damage the leather. In my case, it seems to go through the stitching and leave these hardwater marks on both sides of the stitching, then circles on the lower part of the leather, and then a line on the door handle.
