I'm finalizing my 4s build and will likely choose the metal roof. Has anyone here seen one in person? Impressions?

I definitely would have chosen that, if available! Now I had to add ceramic film to my "ceiling" in the car. Gives a little more roominess, but in the heat of SoCal , one doesn't need a sunroof. Good Choice!

The metal roof has the double bubble, which looks amazing. The glass roof is really for the backseat passengers but why would I care about them....

I have seen it side by side to the panoramic version. I went for the metal roof.

Yeah the metal roof looks awesome from the outside, I'm not going to have passengers in the back that often (cat excepted) so don't think I'd have got a lot of benefit from the pano roof.

Also I read it adds 27kg to the weight which is not nothing.

I believe the metal roof does not allow roof rack mounting if that is an issue for you. Also there is slightly less head room with metal roof. When I ordered my car in March the panoramic roof was a mandatory option.

You will actually have more headroom with the metal roof. The beam behind your head is smaller.
of cause where the glass is you have higher room, but not where your head is supposed to rest

I’ve been pondering the same thing. Currently not spec‘d pan roof but thinking about it. Don’t really want to spend any more money on options.

Metal roof looks cool but Love the contrast the pan roof give (crayon/ black roof). Think I could wrap the roof but will this look a bit cheap finish wise?
Do think the pan roof adds the interior feel and kind of got used to pan roof in current car. Hmmm, what to do!

Wonder if there’s any pics of a tin roof in a contrast black?

I have the metal roof on my 4S and it is great. I was worried that the interior in the back might feel claustrophobic, but it does not at all, even with dark seats. Metal will certainly look better from outside

I am not sure which it is - @Mouse House - can you clarify? I agree with @TheFutre, I would have thought the metal roof would be lighter (or at least close) to the weight of the glass roof.

I think he was saying that the glass pano roof adds 27kg vs. the metal roof. The metal roof is lighter than the glass roof.
