Quick bump on this thread. Thanks to everyone for the helpful instructions and photos! Finally got my radar detector tapped in after 15 years of usage. No more running a 30ft line down and around all the way to the 12V cig plug!

Thank you all for the instruction.
Just received my car, sent the instructions to my dealer and they did the installation for me. The radar doesn't turn off when I lock the car. Is that normal? I thought it was switched 12V power and was expecting it would turn off when locking the car.

GND is ground (any screw screwed into the metal chassis of the car will do, or a negative terminal in some connector). B+ is permanent 12V (never goes off). ACC is "switched" 12V, so only active when the car is ON.

If you have dashcam pre-wire option, it wires both signals to your roof. More details here (just substitute your radar for dashcam which has the same 3 pins requirement):

So question about install of the Mirror Tap wires. Are they supposed to be installed into the connection in the same hole as the existing 12V and ground wires, along side them? Or do we stick them into open/available slots in the back of the connector?

Old thread, so just for completeness, I've since figured out how to use the official Porsche dashcam pre-wire (if your car has been optioned with it) to power dashcams, radar detector, etc. It's been working without any issues for me.

Very helpful info re: mirror tap - will be trying it this weekend

I've just moved over from Tesla and happy to share that the Blendmount for Tesla (BR7-2035) also fits the Taycan perfectly, saving me $$$ buying the BR7-2032.
