Yes, some of those are known issues but you definitely got a lemon. I would take that one in and lemon law it. That is unacceptable for any car. If mine did that, i would have long ago parted with it. You also have a really crappy dealer/service department. I would go to another shop from now on, even if it was inconvenient. So sorry all that happened. You have so much more patience than most of us! You got one that was just a hot mess from the word go. I’d advise getting rid of it.

Yes, I'm giving a different dealership in the area a try to see if they give better service. It sounds like many people think this qualifies for the lemon law. Now I'll have to learn how that works. If anyone has experience with it that would good to hear about.

I too get the blank screen from time to time post uPdate. But its getting less frequent now. Pain when it does happen.
I posted about it on here.

Just press with two fingers for 3 seconds in the upper right corner to reset the PCM.
This trick also works when the screen is blank.

Well there is "hill hold" which works as you describe, then the ACC/ALK stop-start behavior where it will occasionally read "hold" then continue.

That is only for 15 seconds.
After that it'll hold no matter what.
It doesn't continue driving at all.

Alarm, exiting hold mode, inconsistent miles/km, and entering park mode are fixed.

I would call that "major issues fixed".
At least there's progress.

@disappointed I’m having trouble following what’s still an issue, and what has been fixed. The big update that brought the colored icons fixed a TON of software problems and you seem to acknowledge some improvement.

As others have suggested I’m also doubting lemon law at this point, but I’m not a lawyer and I don’t know the rules in your area.

What I would suggest going forward is this: try to differentiate between software issues and physical issues. Be aware the service department will not be able to fix software issues unless a new update is available, which would be well-publicized here on this forum. Attempting to get them to rectify them is just a waste of your time, and loss of use of your vehicle.

The alarm sensor and door trim? Service issues.
GPS speed limit display, km/miles mismatch? Software issues.

You have a sharp eye for issues and seem to be good at documenting them - that is a best-case scenario for a software developer. Try to get a contact where you can report these issues in detail, so they can be fixed in a future update.

Speaking personally as a software engineer, I am mortified when defects are found in the field, and do everything I can to address them as soon as I’m made aware.

I would also encourage accepting that software is never perfect, and is always an evolution over time. Porsche is working to improve this, as we’ve seen with the big “uPdate” they pushed.

I had to lemon an Audi e-tron GT. I just called customer service and they sent me the papers. Not sure if Porsche does the same. If not there are tons of lemon lawyers in each state.

Mine CT4s has had a seatbelt issue from the very beginning, which is itself a shame for such a brand. But dealer did a great job, fixing it within a day, giving Panamera as loaner and small gift from TechEquipment. Shit happens all around the world, the thing is, to clean things up in a right way.

Use your left foot on the brake and learn how to control acceleration and braking with both feet. It takes a little while to learn but I left foot brake pretty much every car that I drive including rentals. I will tell you though on the Taycan that using both pedals at the same time as you enter a corner or turn defeats the recuperation that you normally get when braking for that little segment. Straight line braking works as normal and recuperation is not impacted as long as you have your right foot off of the accelerator, which is normal if you are operating both pedals with your right foot.

I'm assuming that at this point you still have enough issues with the Taycan that you would like to get rid of it at with as little loss of money as possible. Correct?

Based on that assumption I'd hire a lawyer. Start by using this website and interview several candidate lawyers to get a sense of the cost and time involved (the URL link is set for Lemon Law lawyers in Maryland). Also, if you know any lawyers ask them for referrals - they'll know who the good ones are.

In the end I expect working with a lawyer will cost a couple of grand. Given the cost of the Taycan and the amount of loss and frustration you could encounter if you do this yourself, it will be worth the money to do this right. At the same time you should educate yourself on the basics - this is the DMV website describing Maryland Lemon Laws, and here's another website that also has some useful info.

I'm sorry for your disappointment, but for the record - I have never had a serious problem with my 2021 4s. It is a dream to drive, and after the ANA6 uPdate, most of the small, irritating PCM software issues have been fixed. Should you decide to purchase another Taycan I know you'll have a better experience, but it would take a lot of guts. If you do purchase a new Taycan I suggest changing your handle on this forum - "disappointed" is way too negative a starting point for any post.

I also have some professional exp with software testing so perhaps I notice issues more than most. Unfortunate that the customer service dismissed my attempts to report the issues, as I described.

Most current issues were introduced by the major update. They include
False range (happened again today)
Door immediately unlocking
Warn and Brake Assist error
Occasional blank console screen
Music mode spinning wheel
Disappearing drive mode
Blank audiobook controls
Occasional refusal to unlock by touch
And everything mentioned about the GPS, HUD, and voice. Plus fact that HUD directions are unusable due to unusable GPS (~$2000). Plus parallel parking can't be trusted (~$2000) and dealership refused to say who would be liable if collision occurs when parallel parking is in control of car.

You would be liable since you decided to take the risk and let the car park by itself.
The idea is that you keep an eye on the car as it parks, intervening to avoid any damage.

Personally I think it’s a useless feature. I had it on my previous car and never used it in over 5 years of ownership!

We’ve already been over some of these such as “false range” (it’s a dynamic estimate not a guarantee) and the brake warn errors (check the front cameras for dirt and debris,)

Self parking is a gimmick that is unwise to put full trust on in any car.

Not sure what makes the GPS unusable. I’ve used mine to drive all over the country.

If service isn’t helping you report software issues, take them to PCNA. I’d recommend limiting each issue to its own email with a clear title summarizing the problem.

Be sure to include expected results, actual results, steps to reproduce (if consistent) and photos or videos backing up your claim.

I feel fairly certain they will ensure good bug reports make it to the right hands.

Or just sell the car and move on rather than spam all the Porsche forums.

Still seems like more drama than real issues, but what does GPS unusable mean and what $2000 feature are you referring to? And how does that impact using the HUD?

And parallel parking? Who would actually assume that would work well or use it? I’ve never seen a system that actually worked consistently on any car.
