Saw this, very interesting. In a perfect world we would get an update to add this to our Taycans. I will put on my optimist hat and hope for the best. ?

customers, when they're not in the car, they are using the iPhone, iPad, MacOS, Apple Watch, they are very familiar with this UX, UI. That's why they love Apple CarPlay, and that's why we went with this very familiar Apple UI.

It's funny how I have been arguing pretty much exactly this on the topic of car UI's look more and more like giant phones/tablets.

People are interacting with their phones constantly every day. It's undoubtedly the interface that people are most familiar with and companies have spent countless billions of dollars refining it to what it is today.

When driving a car, it's literally a matter of life and death that the interface is as intuitive as possible, since people has very little time to actually learn the interface.

What can then be better than to mimic as closely as possible the interface that literal toddlers are already familiar with?

As far as I can tell, this is just an app, running on iOS via CarPlay (and perhaps also on-phone), that exposes duplicate controls...so you switch to an "app" rather than clicking the buttons that are still there, to the left, and use PCM.

Is this better? It's certainly duplicative...
