Agree the My Porsche app on the phone is very inaccurate.
I think the mixed experiences are because the app uses “average” driving conditions, whatever those are. Your example of low temperature and mine of headwinds show the value of ABRP’s more in-depth estimating algorithm which uses weather (either current or predicted), traffic conditions, and your own parameters including how fast you want to drive (especially important on the Autobahn where 250 km/h is rather different from 130 :) ).

I have had the exact opposite experience; nothing has been as precise as the actual porsche map / route planning and charge estimations (in europe) - it does re-adjust route and charging points depending on conditions and how you drive quite often though. Overall, i am very pleased with it... minus shit car reception and slow responsiveness of the in-car map.

To me it also makes sense that a baked in app with access to consumption, speed, and car settings would be more precise. Out of all the EVs i tried, porsche's guess-o-meter was the most precise.
You may be talking about two different apps here. Previous post I think referred to the My Porsche app on the phone, while you seem to be talking about the in car navigation app. The My Porsche app on the phone has never planned even a possible long road trip for me ( say longer than 800 km, 500 miles). Once I linked ABRP with the car via the OBD, I got very accurate predictions from ABRP, since it adjusted for the real life consumption.

I agree with you that the built in car route planner is very accurate. In my experience it has been accurate to a few percentage points at charging stops. The difference has mostly been due to completely different speeds or drastic changes in the weather.

Porsche is not alone in this respect. The BMW phone app for the i4 is just as bad as the Porsche one. Both phone PPS can predict dream scenarios.

Yes, I am talking about the My Porsche App route planning, which uses the same service as the ionity app as far as I know; where you it creates a route and charging plan for you between 2 locations, and you can then send it to the porsche PCM, where it will load it and do some re-calculations if needed.

I haven't tried ABRP yet, will give it a try on my next 3000km each way trip in August. Loading in the destination in both porsche and ABRP, they suggest me exact same route and time. ABRP however does give me 1 alternative longer route through germany, so better roads.
