New PCM problem…

I haven’t run a single update and my car works fine. CarPlay still sucks sometimes, but that’s not unique to the Taycan. I had similar problems with my GT4 and my M5.

I had a similar problem (tracking in https://github.com/evstatus/PorscheTaycan/issues/3). One thing I'm curious to collect some data on is, for those affected, have you enabled CarPlay and was your phone connected to the car when the crash happened?

It happened to me when I had CarPlay set up, and the 12V disconnect + reboot fixed it (though keep an eye out for https://github.com/evstatus/PorscheTaycan/issues/5 after that). I since have not re-enabled CarPlay and the PCM's been perfect.

For those on this thread affected by this, if you can share whether or not you had CarPlay enabled + a device connected, I'll catalog that data in https://github.com/evstatus/PorscheTaycan/issues/3.

Mine did it 7am on Friday 30th. The fix was locking it up for 15 minutes and going for a McMuffin and a starbucks.

Radio was working and i could cycle the sound source (st on my diamond steering wheel key).
Car play was hooked up (green icon showing in the aircon screen) - waze route navigation playing through the car.

I tried setting th right hand tube to media and just got a spinning wheel.

I tried the engineer reboot in a traffic jam - did nothing.

Almost exact same setup incl even Waze but in my case the two finger Engineering mode reboot fixed it - that’s twice now in last 2 weeks and the same fix each time.

guess I should try leaving CarPlay off for a while but pretty annoying if that is the solution whilst we wait for either Porsche and/or Apple to get this sorted!
