A couple of weeks ago I noticed that I was unable to connect to my 2023 Taycan ST GTS remotely through the phone app. I wanted to precondition the climate control in the car as the weather here in the Northeast has gotten cold. I was unable to connect and I went through the PCM settings and it says I have No Data Connection.

I tried resetting the PCM with the two fingers in the upper right corner of the screen, but still have No Data Connection and cannot connect to the car from the phone app.

Can someone help me?

I had the same problem earlier this year. Support didn't help much. Heard somewhere that disconnecting the minus cable for a few minutes would do the trick. So I did, and the data connection was back. Have a rag in hand, to wrap the cable in to avoid short circuit.

Wow, you had to completely disconnect the battery of the car? Which minus cable specifically are you referring to? Where is this located and how is this done?

Is there any other solution besides this? How is the car receiving data in the first place? Is it through a SIM card? If so, where is that SIM card located and what "service" does it have? My car is less than a year old, so I assume any data subscription plan should still be active, right?

I just read some of the past threads on this same issue. Seems like a common problem, especially on older models....though mine is fairly new (2023).

I will try to pull the fuse in the driver's footwell first and hope that works. If that doesn't work, I will try to disconnect the 12v source....can someone direct me to where that is?

Thanks!

Yea, try lifting the negative (black) 12V cable for a few minutes. It is accessible from the frunk, you just have to pull a trim piece out of the way. There are threads on here that describe in more details with pics.

Those two horizontal lines with a slash through them means your PCM has no cell signal. Until that turns to LTE, you won't have connectivity. In the US, the service is provided by Verizon.

Good luck! Let us know how it went. Btw the car has an E-sim, and a 3 year subscription included

I have a ‘24 CT4 that I bought Jan 15, 2024. Overall am really loving the car, but there are humps and bumps!

I don’t mean to refute any of the other answers here, but I have had two times where I have lost all ability to connect to the car through the app. It lasted for days/weeks, and both times went away on its own.

I have a 2023 and had the same issue, with symptoms that there is no LTE label shown on the PCM. I was not comfortable doing battery disconnect and took it to the dealer. They had to perform LTE modem reset procedure. Then connectivity was restored.

This is what I’ve done and it resolved the issue too. Apparently this is an issue happening all of Porsche's newer vehicles with the updated infotainment system.

My service center told me Porsche is aware of the issue and they are working on a permanent fix.

I’ve been traveling but finally got around to disconnecting the 12V battery to reset the PCM. The negative terminal was easy to access and I disconnected it for about 5 mins. The PCM seems to have reset and I am once again seeing the LTE indication without the double lines.

After recalibrating my windows, the e-brake, my TPMS and the charging ports, everything in the car seems to be working….BUT I still cannot connect to the car through the phone app! The app shows that the last time it connected to the car was back in October! The charging status is not correct, and I cannot control the climate settings through the app. I tried closing out the app, power cycling my phone, etc but still no luck.

Strangely, the app says “Just connected” in the upper left of the screen.

Any suggestions?

My connection / LTE has been missing for a month now. The struck through lines on pcm etc. can’t get battery terminal off in right hand drive car (FFS).
Anyway, my app also says just connected, though all the data, location etc is from a month ago.
What it means is your phone app is talking to the Porsche server and receiving updates. But given your issue, it means the car still isn’t communicating with the Porsche servers.
We have a smart mobility team (not a lot of help) which is a uk number/email. Check your app under contacts and you may have similar. If your LTE is now showing maybe they can go and kick the relevant server for you.
Good luck, very annoying (don’t get me started on 3 month wait for a service appointment to fix it….)

Sledge hammer!

So close but no cigar!

Try using the second key / Porsche ID to unlock and then lock the car (ensure this ID has all privileges needed and use the app from this account. Long shot (again) but if it works then revert to main key / Porsche ID etc.

If your PCM displays the LTE symbol, indicating that the car has data connection with Porsche servers, you might try the following:

If you have LTE or 4G/data connection at PCM, and privacy mode is deactivated, normally what the app and website will show is error message saying something like "no remote access, disable privacy mode (or add your user account to the car)."

If that is the situation, then try @tchavei's method of adding user again in PCM described here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/no-remote-access-via-app.16190/page-2#post-251539
