Overpowering fish smell!!

Hi everyone, first time posting here. Can't tell you how stupid I feel about this.

Absolutely in love with my 4S CT (delivered two months ago) which has Race-Tex seats. This past weekend, my wife prepared her special halibut steaks for her parents, which we transported in a box in the back seat of my car. The box somehow leaked fish juices all over the seats!.

I've had the interior detailed and fully scrubbed but the fish odor seems to have settled into the fabric of the seats and the smell is overpowering. Every time I get in the car I literally want to hit myself in the face.

I would be so grateful if anyone could propose a solution for this problem. Will I have to replace the seat???

I don’t have direct experience in this area but I would plan to remove the seats, clean down to the frame and clean the seats from the front side and the back. I would also leave the seats out of the car to let the smell dissipate.

That is hilarious and so sad at the same time.
I once left a carton of milk in the back of my truck for weeks, the smell went away when the truck went away.
Have a professional do it and don't sweat the cost. There is no price too steep to keep from hating yourself every time you enter the car.

After you make sure the fish juices are completely cleaned out, leave orange peels and/or fresh coffee grounds in the car for a week or so (in an open container or bag).

I suspect the fish juices has soaked through the racetex and gotten into the padding underneath.

Reach out to an automotive upholstery firm so the seat can be disassembled and cleaned. Your porsche center will have a list of porsche approved shops.​

You might try one of those chemical shock treatments that remove VOCs. My wife has chemical sensitivity, so I have to shock all our new cars before she can ride in them.

If you go that route, know that your car will smell like chlorine for a while 4-7 days. Also, follow the directions exactly. If you go this route, pm me and I’ll give you a couple tips.
