Not wanting to highjack the octopus thread. But noticed Speuk said the charge anytime cost is going from 7p to 14p or for you switch to a monthly package. He's right unfortunately.

Anyway good comparison on the ovo options here:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2025/10/ovo-charge-anytime-price-hike/

I'd flag all of their mileage calculations on their subscription/monthly plans are made on basis of car getting 4 miles per kWh. I get more like 2.5 on mine so be careful making a decision on choice of those packages.

I tend to use north of 300kwh per month on charging, so no point for me to switch to a monthly plan. Especially as i place little value on a free 600 miles (ie more like 400) at public charging as I rarely use it and when i do its based on which service station I'm driving past than seeking out an ovo charger.

Please tell me if you think I'm being dumb (50% chance at least).

I guess i need to look at switch to Octopus, but then i think i spend 4p per kwh on my other electricity consumption and need to be more organised.

Here is my fag packet comparison based on 2024 consumption. EON looks like the best bet for me.

Ignored any time shift savings
Assume all charging can be done in off-peak hours by spreading charging over 2 days
No solar panels and no battery storage

So the Ovo anytime app announced it was no longer in use so I deleted it.
The new app required some sort of new account and new log in and I lost the will to live when I saw that and since the new terms looked a bit rubbish I haven't bothered with it.

BUT today I can't charge my car because it is still being externally controlled, presumably by OVO which over-rides the settings I put in every few seconds.
I did not dissociate my car with the old software before it stopped working and that option was not obviously available so now I am a bit knackered.
Any Ideas?
My first thought was to disconnect my smart meter.

Hi Frank
My move to the new OVO Charge App went smoothly and from memory I just logged in with my OVO Energy log in and followed the instructions
Chat GPT instructions attached

I may move to EON but the savings are not huge. For me it is not worth paying for any of the OVO subscriptions

Yup, I did the same move to new app this morning using my OVO Energy account details. Shame they brought this in now because i’ve only got a few months left on my Taycan before it goes and then I’m done with EVs for a bit and will also likely be switching away from OVO Engery too.

The new app is far better - and shows actual cost savings better. Seems to communicate with the car better too. It’s worth persevering with logging in

You need to revoke the permissions granted to Ovo. I can’t see a what to list any existing authorisations so I’d try changing your Porsche password - this should remove the 3rd party access to your account (and car!).

Yep changing your Porsche password will stop OVO connecting with the Porsche servers.
But you might as well try and get the OVO Charge App working as even at 14p/kwh it is still a 47% saving on the full rate.
