Seems glass is back ordered and the place Porsche sent me to isn’t technically capable of replacing it .. my insurance said Porsche told them no current eta for glass. Crazy. Calling Porsche to see what I can learn directly.

I am told it is being escalated with the hope of having an eta this week. . Feels strange that glass isn’t stocked nationally.

So far sounds like the part if I can get it is $4300ish , i asked the body shop about the windshield and she is checking I am curious to see what labor is. Will keep you all posted.

Hi , It would be great to know what finally transpired with replacing the roof in term of total cost and quality (leakages etc) Looks like I will be going through the pain.

Mine was done earlier this year...

No idea on cost as it was done under warranty.

No leaks whatsoever though and, thus far, no other issues.

Windscreen wasn't removed either.

Thank you very much ?? Did the dealer consider it a manufacturing defect and they covered it. Mine I have no clue how it happened. It must have just cracked. Was yours the same way .?

Covered under warranty. There are plenty of reports on here of it happening.

I noticed mine quickly as a small crack that was definitively within the glass. (could not feel it on the outside or inside of the car).

I took it straight to the dealer, they inspected it and confirmed it was a warranty claim.

The roof was changed 2-3wks later, and in that time the crack spread quite a lot. When it met the edge of the glass, the glass did chip there.

Ask the dealer first would be my advice.

It was about $7k for roof glass and windshield, they ended up having it in stock and it took 2 days.

No leaks, but they had to re do some inside clips about a month later.

I went through who my dealer recommended and State Farm covered it.
