PCM recall impact: 0880??

Does everyone who had the notice for the PCM update (campaign WPN8) have the same nonsense message or is it just me?
Wondering what potential impact I am driving around with while waiting for an appointment… “0880” is a bit comical. Porsche at their best…

or perhaps it is a text emoji for two people being crushed by the sides of the car?

Hi - I have had the same notice. When I queried with Porsche Cambridge, this is the response I was given: "this bulletin came out a day or so ago and will be taken care of at your next visit to a dealership service department. It is not a safety related recall."

I have it as well, but not done anything about it yet.

I went in to get my wheels swapped yesterday and had booked to get the update at the same time, but my other plans for the day changed so I didn't want to wait the additional time for the update- which isn't urgent- and it'll instead be done when the car has its first service in June.

I went into the dealership for a wheel repair and they did the update on my PCM. Now My Porsche app is fully adapted onto my CarPlay.

I believe it was determined in previous posts that while “impact 0880” sounds mysterious and possibly dangerous (“self-destruct imminent) it’s actually just an Porsche reference to the endless spinner on PCM startup issue. In case you were wondering.

The 880 update was not needed for the CarPlay / My Porsche further integration piece - that was possible before as had it working. Have since had the PCM update completed and not noticing any differences - there have been posts saying quicker and more reliable CarPlay connection amongst other comments

Had mine done 2 weeks ago at the dealership. Driven twice and pcm locked up today. Did a climate off on lower screen and “reset” pcm and now works for we will see how long fyi. Never happened before the update.

I booked this 2 weeks ago through my Porsche app, I called my local dealer today as I hadn't heard anything back apart from an acknowledgment email. Local dealer had not been notified , booked it in, first slot available is 7th February !
