Before I create a service call with my dealer, I wanted to ask about your experiences.

Despite the car having a strong data connection via both mobile and Wi-Fi, the PCM indicates that there is no data connection. I am unable to stream music via Spotify or Apple Music (though it works through CarPlay), the satellite overlay in the navigation system is not functioning, and the Porsche app is not updating.

Could this be an issue between the data module and the PCM, or does all data traffic go through Porsche’s central servers, potentially indicating a central issue? The latter seems unlikely to me.

Porsche seem to have some issues with their services today and that may be the reason you have problems.

So patience is needed, I assume. The problem started yesterday, by the way.

I had messages from both A Better Route Planner as well as Tronity about issues.

Typically absolutely rafio silence from Porsche!

May be different in different markets of course?

Yes, it could be a hardware or software issue in your Taycan, and yes, all PCM to cloud "Porche Connect Services" go through Porsche's back-end servers.
Here is a forum post with links for more information and tips.
It is not unusual for Taycan data connection problem to resolve on its own after a couple days.

Assuming (fingers crossed) there are no hardware or software issues in a two-week-old car, the problem could be related to connectivity with the Porsche backend servers. This is quite a complex setup, as an outage could result in a significant number of dissatisfied customers

Problems with remote access to Taycans have been reported here since 2020.
I'm assuming your car previously had connectivity and proper operation, and this is/was not a problem with getting your Porsche ID as a new owner linked to the car and registered with Porsche Connect Service.
But, there have been reports here about a couple of very new 2025 Taycans having data connection problems similar to yours.
There is a TSB for 2025 models about problems with data connection but symptom is that the emergency call system is also out of order. Does your car have green light by mirror indicating SOS system is working?

My 2025 lost its data connection about 1-month into ownership. I called Porsche and they were able to reset something server-side and I was reconnected within 24-hours.
About another month later and now it's disconnected again. All the typical troubleshooting steps have no effect. I am on hold again now trying to get them to perform another server-side reset.
This condition also knocks out CarPlay, which is very strange since that is just between the car and phone.

Green light next to the SOS button is indeed working

Hmm my CarPlay is still working though. Contacted the dealer, and they will come back to me. Hoping that they can perform a reset also

I had the exact same issue on my 2025 2 weeks ago, which lasted for about 6 days. It restored itself then after that period without any measures taken.

MY25 and still the same connectivity issues going on with no messages of outage by the car or app notification.

The software is just incredibly bad quality. I’m in 1 month of ownership and could write a huge list of outages, bugs, issues and weird behaviour.

If you call Porsche USA, they will walk you through some troubleshooting steps (none worked).
They will ask for a picture of the PCM and the green SOS light via email.
Then they forward the case to someone in Germany who actually has the capability to reset something in the Deutsche Wolke that all the cars report into.

The problem was resolved this evening. I visited the dealer this afternoon, but the product specialist didn’t have an answer either. We performed a factory reset, which (of course) made things worse, as I couldn’t log in anymore. I drove home in guest mode, and the dealer promised to contact Porsche for troubleshooting. Around 7PM the Porsche app was ‘empt’, so clearly the app had server connectivity again.

I assume there was some kind of central reset on the Porsche servers, but I’m waiting for confirmation from the dealer. Unfortunately had update all the settings again.

Off-topic: The product specialist attempted the two-finger reset, which obviously didn’t work with the latest software version. He didn’t know how to perform a proper reset and said he would get back to me on that.
