Phone box upgrade

The oem phone box charging option isn't really optimal in my opinion. Phone gets hot and the arm rest hatch is a struggle...

I designed a center console phone box trim to resolve the above described issues.

Integrated 15w (up to) wireless charging and illuminated Taycan logo. All oem fitting points reused to keep the trim secured.

The center console provides slot for charging/credit cards and some smal pocket change.
The Taycan logo is illuminated by the cup holder ring LEDs.

3D printed in UV and heat resistant plastic. Soft touch honeycomb skin on top, soft touch skin in the phone box cavity with a circuit board pattern. Design inspired by the rear headlight clusters and interior for a seamless integration.

Looks great! Does anybody know if this modification would cause a dealer to say, "You did this, so the warranty is void?" Might depend on what country you live in.

Not to difficult to install if your somewhat technically skilled.

Well done! That looks great and it looks to be so much better than trying to get the phone into the ridiculous center console. Also, seeing this makes me wonder what the heck it is I am doing with all my time!

Not sure i'd be displaying my charging cards in that side pocket if you live in a city. I think your windows would last about 5 minutes in London!

Looks great. I'd add a 30W USB C's charging port at the bottom edge, powered from 12V cigarette lighter circuit, for those times your phone needs a rapid charge via a cable. Bonus if you can tie it into the front USB C as well, so you can get a fast charge and wired USB-C Apple CarPlay or Android Auto (so essentially a powered USB-C hub plugged into the front USB-C for data and 12V for power). Also for me (perhaps not for everybody), I'd try to use the cupholder towards the back, as I tend to utilize the front one often (coffee cup or water bottle).

Always great to see people customizing their cars to their liking! Keep on improving you car!

It's all in a tight spot, not loads of room for expansions. But I have plans to integrate a usb-c connection, it will be a later activity that I postponed at this stage.
