I just got my Taycan RWD and charged it for the first time yesterday with the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect (PMCC).
I have had an electrician to install /modify my installation so it can deliver 32 amp to the charger, but I cannot set the level higher than 16 amp on the charger.
My installation includes the Home Energy Manager and it is connected to PMCC through PLC. There are 3 phases, 240 V.
I have tried to factory reset the PMCC but to no avail.
Anybody with similar experience?

The setting your are trying to change in the PMCC is showing two possibilities:

Either you got an 11kW variant of the PMCC, which were sold at least at beginning of the Taycan production in some countries at least. You can check that by reading the PMCC label at the back.

Or you have an infrastructure cable attached to the PMCC which is only rated for 16A. This you can check by reading the part number of the cable itself on the connector going into the PMCC and posting it here. Maybe together with an image of the Wall plug.

One caveat you have when using the PMCC together with the home energy manager is that the manual setting on the PMCC will only act as a fallback setting, in case the energy manager is currently offline.

Hope that helps

Check the grounding.

If you have the correct supply cable (there are choices) ensure that it is 32A rated - between supply and PMCC as the default may be 16A.

If you can't adjust the ampage in the PMCC beyond 16A then the issue is likely here.

All PMCCs in Europe and on new cars from MY21 onwards are 22kW rated. I'm not certain on MY20 but suspect (given the price) they would be 22kW too.

Sounds like you have a new car and if you didn't get the 22kW AC onboard charger upgrade then you should expect 11kW from your 3 phase supply and PMCC.

Do you have the charger on the 50% setting?

Then what is it? PMCC plus is the one with the screen and wifi correct? The one that came with my car is that one - default was 50%. Holding down the charge button changed it to 100%

My PMCC has a rate button.

That is not a PMCC - the clue is the title in your screen shot - (no mention of “Connect”) and besides PMCCs have a touch panel display.

Sorry to come across as smart @rse but….

@SorenDK You might want to ask the dealership why they gave you such an old charger version with a new car. You are supposed to get the version which is capable of delivering 22kW.

PMCC is the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, ie the one with WiFi connection and a touch screen. On that touch screen you can set the amp levels from 6 amp to 32 amp. In my case with 3 phase power, that is up to 22 kW.

Here is a picture of it from a thread on here.

Standard issue is the PMC Plus (9.6kW).
