ok mine is now updates - 2925 - no apparent changes - and the minimum amps is still 6 amps - LOL - Porsche a known issue with charging that slowly that drains the 12V…

I'll dig around in the web UI and see what else I can find, but so far nothing dramatic appears to have changed.

it looks like it took 6 months for the OTA update to be released to older chargers :)

version 2925 is NOT new. See attached a photo I toom on Dec 29th showing version 2925.
My car was mid Sept build and I leased in end of Nov. I believe 2925 was the version PMCC came with.

This version certainly does not fix the 12v issues since it has PLC enabled by default.

Has your 12v battery ever crashed ever since Dec 29? If yes, there's one theory out the window.

the problem with the PMCC is it's used across multiple Hybrid/EV product lines (and shared with Audi & VW) -so the 6 amp issue might be Taycan specific - but not affect other VW/Audi/Porsche vehicles…

recently my friends obtained an Audi eTron (SUV) - other than the "logo" sticker on the charger - the part numbers are identical to my Taycan part numbers - not just the same physical parts (which they are) - but the actual part numbers _ON_ charging components are identical to the Taycan's PMCC part numbers…

so they may not "fix" the Taycan issue regarding PLC and 6 amps - because it does not affect the rest of their product line that can also use that charger.

Very very stupid question (from a stupid person): where do I find these versions? I looked through everything I could think of....

  1. turn on the PMCC
  2. press the "gear/settings" icon in the lower right
  3. press the "down arrow" to get to the 2nd settings screen "2/3"
  4. press the "software update" line on the screen
  5. that will show you the software update settings on the PMCC
    1. current installed version is displayed bottom center screen

Thanks by the time i checked it had updated itself. Not sure what changed but my two big issues remain:

1) Random pop up error warning that means nothing, and

2) THE DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS DOESN’T MATTER. I keep setting to full brightness and after 15-20 seconds it still dims down.

Number 2 is really annoying. I prefer my dumb inexpensive 9KW chargers over this any day. What is the point of this unit really?

Got a PMCC software update this morning. If I hadn't been standing beside the charger, I wouldn't have seen it. Wonder what it's for? 12V issues?
Mine updated as well. Had not used mine in a couple of days. Have the unit since late June when the car arrived at the dealer. Was able to get the charger while they performed PDI, so that I had it installed at home when they handed the car to me two days later.

Has anybody linked the charger? Does it then work with Plug & Charge when PIN code enabled?

i can try - but you might need PLC enabled to do that - and porsche says turn it off to avoid a know 12v issue - also unclear if you need 2021 MY for that

but my PMCC is linked to my porsche id - so far all it seems to get is charge history data on login.porsche.com

OK, so it should work! Thanks!

I tried again to link my Porsche ID today. First with the old version and it failed as before. Then the update for the PMCC came. With the new version it failed again but with a different message. Something is wrong with my phone or Porsche Connect.

So I have mine linked to my Porsche account, but no charging history or link to the charger ever shows up. I don’t need that info, at this point more curious about what, if any advantage, the Porsche branded charger has.

I am hoping the new firmware reduces or eliminates the occasional failure to start charging on the unit.

Look under the Porsche Charging Service Tab on MyPorsche.
