Hi everyone, some thoughts / advice needed please.

I bought a used 73 plate Taycan cross turismo (private sale) last year which I’ve really enjoyed driving. 3 months ago the app stop connecting with the car so after a few reset attempts guided by Porsche customer service, I was asked to take it to a dealer for a hard reset.

It’s been 10 weeks now and the car is still with them after attempting to replace multiple parts and trying various software updates guided by PAG.

They’ve recently given me a Macan T petrol to keep me mobile but 10 weeks of attempts to fix the problem to no avail seems a bit unreasonable, would you not agree?

Curious if anyone has had any similar experiences. At what point do they decide it can’t be repaired and what can I expect in return. Also what sort of goodwill have people received in similar situations?

appreciate your thoughts/guidance

My Porsche Connect failed for 3 months, nothing Porsche suggested would fix it, but they couldn't book me in to look at it for months. Eventually on the day before it was booked in it started working again, so they just shrugged and said "everything's ok now" so they washed the car and gave it back. No concept that 3 months without remote connections meant I couldn't smart charge etc.

Something in the car seems dodgy about the connection but I'm not sure they really understand it.

Take it to a different dealer. Mail a letter with copy of your post above directly to the senior manager of Porsche GB and the CEO of Porsche AG.

I
Have had this happen twice on my 2021 Taycan RWD and each time I scheduled the appointment to bring it in the communication with the app came back the day I brought it in a a day or two before. Each time they gave me an ICE Macan loaner, did their checks, found nothing, washed it and had me pick it up.
Unfortunately the dealer can’t do anything if the problem goes away before they can look at it but I would expect if they had the vehicle for months they should have figured out what was wrong or had replaced components relating to the vehicle communications to the cloud.
If they replaced nothing to narrow down what the problem could be then I wouldn’t trust that dealer or at least the mechanics they assigned to troubleshoot the issue.
I have to wait until it will fail for my dealer before they can do anything but it is annoying when you can’t see what’s going on in the vehicle which you are paying $300+ per year & not getting…

Thanks for the quick replies. It’s already been escalated to Porsche GB head office and despite replacing various components and performing various updates as per PAG’s instructions, the issue still persists. Surely they can’t drag this on indefinitely?
