I have news about this since my car has been in the shop for weeks over this issue. There is a Porsche case with tech in Germany over this.

Porsche has tried 5 times to fix this and it keeps reappearing every few days. I don't drive my car a lot but it's been 400 miles since the last issue.

They've updated software, reset via the battery disconnect etc and nothing has fixed it. Even tried the beta software that's coming and it still didn't resolve the issue.

They have now removed the interior (yes, you read that right) to get to the module somewhere in the center of the console/dash to get to some battery in a module that Porsche is saying 'may' be discharging. I'll know today if that was the issue.

At this point I feel like Porsche (not the dealer. The dealer has been amazing) is guessing. I have already spoken with a lemon law attorney and are waiting for this latest outcome.

I love my Taycan however I've had to setup my car now at few times (connect, add SirusXM channels back, car settings, etc) and I'm pretty much over it at this point.

Today (after being offline since Nov 13) my car magically was able to login connect and fully work with the app/data in the car without any changes.. very strange!

My LTE connection is crossed for now 2 weeks. Last time it came back but now it has not.
Booked with the dealer to reset modem. Hopefully, just a reset will do it. Prefer dealer vs. me doing the battery disconnect. Will report back on the outcome.

With all these problems it has to be a backend issue surely....
From what I've learned from the case that my dealer opened with Porsche, it's not a backend issue.

It seems to be a Control Unit issue.

As soon as I started driving to the dealer, the modem came back with LTE symbol and I returned back home. This is the second time that happened to me where if you wait long enough then, it will heal itself.

However, what is interesting this happened after the car has not been driven for about a week given bad weather with 50% SoC as recommended. I wonder if somehow, the 12V current gets low or systems shutdown when the car is not driven and then the modem just not waking up.

As soon as the LTE modem came online, I thought the car will send the Trip Data back to the Servers so I have it in the App, but that is not the case, my last Trip Data in the app is Dec 9 when I most likely stopped driving the car and then today Dec 23 I have Trip Data back in the App since I drove it. You would expect for the data to be buffered by the car and then sent over when connection is established, but may be it does that once a day, so I will see if Trip Data during modem downtime appears.

This is certainly not a back end issue as the modem is clearly dead by a double cross symbol, however, the App acts like everything is ok, it says App updated just fine and showing me last reported data when the car was connected on Dec 9. The expected operation should be, cannot reach the car to update data. However, if you send a command to it like Direct Charging, it shows you an error as if Servers cannot be reached, where in fact it is the Car cannot be reached.

Anyway, this entire connectivity, process, and error handling is terrible.

Have you guys tried taking out the two connectivity fuses. I have to do this about every 3 to 4 months when my car loses connection to the app. It has worked the last 4 times it has disconnected.

Yes. Several times and it reappeared just as quickly or didn't resolve the issue at all.

However, it should be noted that for the price point this car is, there should be zero reason to pull fuses to reset anything that should just work at its most basic level.

My car has been in the shop since Dec 17th trying to get this sorted out. The dealership has been working with Porsche in Germany to get this resolved and solved.

The issue, even though something basic as an app not connecting, is that the charging services are disabled and can't connect to the Porsche chargers and Electrify america and use the free charging subscriptions. Also, route planning and pre-conditioning aren't available.

If these services weren't integrated or available in-car, it wouldn't be such an annoying issue.
