Thanks for the post. Impressed with the photos, and also the re-charging stops - both EV and Golden Arches. One of the factors I observed from your photo is the tyre pressure in your centre left instrument dial. That’s a good thing to have visible on a long trip and I had yet to realise you could add this. See a separate post on a tyre issue I currently have. My instrument cluster is now showing tyre pressure.

I got in the habit of keeping that viewable after catching a flat at Boxstoberfest, getting it patched, then doing high performance driving on it.

Mine was showing tyre pressure when i drove out of the showroom so I assumed it was default (I don’t have any driver over-rides).
I have left it on since it is important and I haven’t had it before.

I had an absolutely glorious drive out, and no problems with Francis Energy chargers:

I got checked into the event and found my (non-air) BNB. It was charming and the hosts gracious but the parking was on a very steep slope and I just felt uneasy parking there. It was putting a lot of faith in my parking brake, I felt, and faith in the other patrons parked in front of me. I guess I was in a weird mood or just a bit homesick but decided to blow off the trip and just drive home.

When I finally got home I discovered I have now joined the pano roof replacement club:

I probably should have stayed, as the only Taycan in attendance I was a shoe-in for the people's choice car show. :)
Your $15 stop for charging would have cost me $51 at a charger in uk (apart from Porsche charging and Ionity that is). I see many Americans moaning about charging but damn you get it cheap!

I put tire pressures on the IC before I left the dealer - a habit from previous cars. It saved me on the drive home (very long drive, 3,500 miles) - the very next night I noticed one tire has lower pressure (the car did not throw any warnings yet). Found a screw smack in the middle of the tire. I was able to pump it up at a gas station and drive it to a tire store to fix. Had I not noticed, I would have likely gotten stranded somewhere needing a tow truck.

I was unsuccessful with multiple Francis Energy chargers I tried in OK on my roadtrip a few months back even after calling customer service many times, they couldn't figure out why the charger failed to initiate. I had to limp it to an finicky 50kW non-Francis Energy charger west of Tulsa to continue the trip...

Anyway, oddball question, when you initiated the charge was your car turned "on" or "off"? I keep mine "on" for EA, EVgo etc with no issues but it did not occur to me at the time that may have been what was causing my issue with Francis Energy. Thought about going to Porschepalooza but wasn't sure if any Taycans were going to be there!

Car was off. I did have a Francis Energy RF card and I used it exclusively to start the charges.
