Possible problems with brakes

Hey,

I reported to my dealer that there is a donkey sound coming from the brake, when I drive in mornings for the first a couple of kilometers. After that the issue disappears.

However, what’s also worrying is that I found a knocking sound coming from the rear when pressing the brakes hard (disappears if the suspension is set to sport). That sound also comes when I corner quite hard.

Moreover, the brake pedal is sometimes stiff when driving after long parking. My wife complains that it gets harder to stop the car when it happens.

The dealer said they needed to open an issue with the factory as they are concerned that the sound is “normal”. But I’m afraid there is something else that the pedal behaves like that.

Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Is it possible I’ll be left without brakes (hopefully not when driving >12kmh as regenerative braking should work)?

The donkey sound is from the brake booster I believe. There is a TSB for this on the forum if you search for it.

The knocking sound is something I have not heard of before. Definitely needs to be diagnosed bye the dealer.

The stiff brake feel is standard behavior after the car sits for a while. It reverts to 100% mechanical braking to scrub off your brake pads. You'll notice it only does this for a short period of time before the region braking kicks back in and you get your normal pedal feel back.

There is a ton of info on the braking system on the forum if you search for it. It's a lot to parse through but worth spending some time reading.

I saw a TSB that was about insufficient braking power or the pedal press was too long or something similar. The thing is that the dealer showed me a TSB with a video by Porsche which stated the sound is normal.

regarding stiffness I own this car since February and never noticed that before though. How can that be?

I think the dealer showed me the sound from this TSB https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10200877-0001.pdf. But still they sent my video to the factory.
