Hi there! I sold my 2020 Taycan 4S and just hopped into a 2025 Taycan 4. Both have the Passenger Display option, but only the 2025 has a privacy filter on the passenger display.

I know that the introduction of the ability to view video content is likely the reason for this, but it's a huge bummer (my bad for not knowing!). When I had a passenger on board in my 2020, I used to be able to see whatever screen they were fiddling with, include some of the performance-related content. Those days are gone. Siiigh.

Anyhow, no real question in this post ... but maybe this will be educational for some who are considering the passenger display with the intent of being able to see it from the driver's seat.

That's why gen 1 Taycans go up in value!
Not only they look better but also cuz of this! 🤗

If you put in the passenger seatbelt and press the passenger seat cushion it'll stay on when you're driving by yourself.
I don't think this lifehack works on gen 2 Taycans though...
Anyone can confirm?

Can't really see it, even when on, in the J1.2. If you strain you can see a kind of ghost image due to the filter.

Yea, I use the passenger display on my J1.1 all the time when road-tripping with my wife, I use Waze via Carplay on main display, and show Porsche Navigation on passenger display to see estimated battery SoC at the next charger (if it gets too low, I slow down). I only use Porsche nav to navigate one hop at a time - to next DC charger. Other apps like ABRP are much better at planning out the route. I wish Porsche nav would not disengage when I start navigation in Waze.

Passenger display filtering my view would suck, but no need to worry about it now, no Cross Turismo in US available for J1.3 anymore, so I won't be upgrading.

For my J1.1 i bought a seatbelt dummy to keep plugged in the passenger buckle. Used to plug in the actual seatbelt going behind the passenger-seat, but this way it's cleaner :)

It just looks awesome/futuristic in the dark, it doesn't distract me as a driver at all
With the privacy screen, I probably would no longer spec it.
