Hi, newbie here and looking to order a new car within the next couple of weeks after an amazing test drive! I'm looking at a fairly low spec 4S but deciding between the ST or CT. As it is very likely the build will be in MY2023, does anyone have details on the range of these two models in that build year?

Don't believe or trust Porsche published WLTP numbers 100% unobtainable in UK.

CT will have the max range battery as standard (Performance Battery Plus) so max range in summer will be around 270 miles on 100% charge and in Winter < 5C ambient 220 miles max.

ST - ensure you have the performance battery plus.

Range will always fluctuate due to how you drive, ambient temperature and battery temperature.

Assume range is more or less the same across the model year as battery tech is the same. Software tweaks where available will have been applied.

In general plan on 240 miles in spring / summer and no more that 218 - 230 in autumn / winter and any more is a bonus.

There is a range calculator on the Taycan website at the bottom - play with that as it is pretty accurate and you will see the impact of using AC, ambient temp and wheels size.

Great, thanks. That was the query I had really. Whether the software tweaks will have been applied across the range by MY2023, as I noticed on the website that at present the ST 4S range is quoted as up to 309 with PBP, whereas the CT 4S range is up to 281. Do we think the CT will be quoted as up to 309 by MY2023?

I expect it will but not all cars will be re-tested and besides these numbers are pie in the sky and performed under controlled conditions.

Owners in Florida or other warmer climbs will get near to these numbers but even with global warming we in UK can only dream!

ST will be more 'frugal' than CT as it sits lower to the ground (20mm) and the aero is not spoiled by the awful (sorry) plastic cladding.

In addition to the change in range between warm and cold weather driving, if you are concerned about distance driving, take all the maximum range numbers with a big grain of salt. To reach them you would need to go from 100% SOC to 0% SOC charge which isn't doable. More realistically take 80% of the maximum range mentioned.

If your driving is mostly short distance and you charge at home, then it's not really a consideration.

Thanks for your help. Recognise we won't get close to their quoted range and especially not as I can see the addiction of flooring it will be strong!
