Get the highest spec you can for your budget and I would advocate AWD (dual motors) as these cars are awesome in bad weather including snow. RWD only made an appearance to help with list pricing IMHO.
Since he’s looking for CT/ST, aren’t they all AWD only?

speaking about prices.
I have no idea about UK market, but i can see that my CT4 is on sale at my dealer for 59.900€.
(MY21, 65k km, lots of options like PDCC, PTV, RWS, olea lether, etc… price of the new was 140k€)

edit: looks it was already sold since it’s no longer on the page…

Took me several months to find my just over 3 year CT Back in March this year. At that age there are loads coming off a lease and have been looked after by OPC etc. Prefer the ST and light colour interior, but had to compromise on something. Based on my experience I would be open minded about OPC, independent even private and focus on price/spec.

The EV indie deal was a good £5k more advantageous including me putting a 2 yr Porsche warranty on it. They were more flexible on their price but also the trade in allowance they gave me for our Tesla. Trade in may not be relevant to you, but OPCs were laughable.

The indie prepped the car well, not £9k worth, but they had the alloys refurbed properly, polished the paintwork and sent it off to their local OPC for outstanding recalls/updates.

We’re not in London but urban enough to value the surround parking and fold in mirrors. The rear wheel steer is also a big help with manoeuvrability plus I wanted bose and innodrive, pano roof etc. Had to be open minded about where I bought it from otherwise I might still be looking!
Yep OPC trade in offers are derisory. Every time mine goes in for service they try their luck (probably because of the very low mileage) but give up when I tell them WBAC’s offer.

Fortunately WBAC/Motorway are still offering good money for mine 🤞, so I don’t have to worry about trade in unless an Indi offers more.

Main issue is CT/ST with warranty aren’t far off OPC so far. I guess I’ll just have to bide my time. I’m reluctant to go the pre-inspection route for one out of warranty, unless there’s potentially a big saving to be had.

The CT are all 4WD, the standard ST aren’t only ST4S above adds 4WD as standard. Atleast that’s the case for 2022/23 cars.

Nope. In UK we have a RWD ST variant.

I’ve been looking at used Taycans for a while (Turismo/Cross) and was wondering how much room there is for negotiation.

Usually OPCs and even independents won’t budge much on Porsches, but I’m not sure if the same is true for the EVs.

Im looking at 5 seater Turismo/Cross, ~3 years old. If it’s via an independent id prefer in warranty so I can easily extend, OPC ofcourse that wont matter. I only do ~2k/year so dont mind higher mileage. Pretty flexible on option:

1) Preferably Bigger battery. Purely for future proofing.
2) Kids would like Pano Roof.
3) Folding mirrors (Live in London, should really be standard on a car this size).
4) Surround View would be nice (useful on my Cayenne).

Given the mileage I do I’m not bothered about the rest. RWD is fine and I may even prefer it. Ofcourse if there’s only a couple of K in it I’d grab a higher specd one.

So back to my original question, where have people been putting their offers with success? From searches on AT, 22 regs seem to be starting around ~£45k at indis and ~£50k at OPCs. But there aren’t as many of the hatches as the saloons so dont want to annoy dealers with unrealistic offers.

The other option I’m considering is the Macan which looks like it’s starting to drop now. But ideally want to get back to a low slung car now the kids are older.
At the age you are looking at I reckon Porsche mark up by circa £10k but they have to recommission, service tyres etc and put on a 2 year warranty which could easily eat up half of that . Plus servicing £50k of stock could easily be £500 a month ! I would try to negotiate down by 4-5k and settle at £2-3 !

They list the reg, so I’ve been sticking it in WBAC to get an idea of what they likely paid. As per my previous post OPCs offers have always been below my own WBAC quotes. And friends have said the same.

Ofcourse they might have had the car a while, but I’m looking at new ones that pop up. As I’ve already been through those sitting on the site a while. And they may have given a better trade in to secure sale, but then they’ve made money on the other end.

From my (albeit limited data set) they’re marking up the 2022/23 ST/CTs ~£15k. Deviation of ~£2k depending on OPC location and if the cars a hard sell (very high mileage for example).

I may just start annoying some OPCs lol to see if I get lucky. Particularly with the higher mileage cars.

I bought my Tacycan (21 plate, 15,000 miles) from an independent. On average i found OPC with similar spec, to be around 5K to 8K more expensive. Yes, you get 2 year warranty included with that price, but hard to justify that extra cost. Taking my car to Porsche soon, to have the warranty extended though. AND, as i bought it through an independent, i worked the cost of the 2 year warranty into the deal. Brilliant cars to drive !!

The problem with that is - if you did not scan the car and there are little faults on the car that can not be cleared, then you will have to fix all of those faults.
E.g. aircon flaps, battery coolant pump, fans and so on. And you will have to do that at eye watering pricing.
Untill all faults are clear and the 111 point checkis perfect then you will not be able to extend the warranty.

Also, you can not extend the warranty until you owned the car for 3 months.

Everything scanned perfectly before purchase, no faults. And was just serviced a couple of months ago. My 90 days ownership is nearly there. Forgot to mention, the dealer has given me a 1 yr warranty which will cover any eventuality of the 111 point check not passing, before i purchase the Porsche warranty. Hopefully everything works out ok.

These cars have spent their first years of life in and out of OPCs for recalls, updates as well as a service. Saving at least £5k including the cost of putting a warranty on it myself looked like a great risk reward ratio to me.

Mine was sent to OPC for updates/recalls before I bought it and subsequently passed the 111 check without a single thing flagged up 90 days later. I’m sure yours will too 👍

I think the point being made was it's a risk...one you simply don't have buying from an OPC. Hence (in part) the premium.

(Also only applies if outside of original warranty of course).

How much did they charge for the pre-warranty inspection?

I got the warranty cost from Brooklands last time my Cayenne was in for service. But forgot to ask about that.
