Recuperation mode

I drive mainly with recuperation mode switched on but I find that after driving at higher speeds and then slowing down with it on, all of a sudden it speeds up for a brief second making me brake harder than I was planning to. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I've no idea if it's normal or why it does it.

What is the slower speed you are referring to? The regen will cut off at speeds of approximately 3-5 mph. This will have you brake harder than just before the cutoff. If this is what your are experiencing, it is normal and operating as intended.

I will check but that could well be it. I thought it stayed on till you switched to sport mode or restarted the car. Is there a logic to this? Thanks for the info..

Porsche does not utilize a full stop one pedal driving mode. What you are experiencing is the changeover from recuperation to traditional braking. Porsche believes that is it is more efficient to coast than utilize regen solely to stop the vehicle. This is why the auto regeneration mode will cut out when the distance to the car in front meets the criteria.
Personally, I don't like full one pedal driving and will never own a Tesla of any kind.

I get more excited driving my 2020 Bolt with one pedal driving than I do with my 2022 Taycan when driving in town. Coasting is great with the Taycan but limited use. Just my experience. No recalls on my Bolt in almost 4 years except for a new battery which was painless. Bolt has been problem free. Sold my 2017 911 to buy a Taycan. On the list for the 718 EV but****

My 2021 rwd does same thing. Regens down to 30mph, shuts off for about 3 seconds then starts regen again, wierd!

There are a few TSBs related to braking, which includes a software update to the PSM. Braking feel is much improved. The transition from regen to mechanical braking is seamless, and the only way you'll be able to tell now is actually feeling the pads on disc through the brake pedal--at least with AWD and PSCBs. I assume RWD braking is slightly different.
