Hello Taycan Forum!

We at Redshift Performance are extremely excited to share some exciting news first hand to the members of this great community!

We have been providing enthusiasts from all over the world (we have customers in 25+ countries and counting) with reliable & cutting edge performance upgrades for the J1 generation of Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT models for multiple years now. Many members of this forum are part of our customer base!

We are proud to announce and introduce our performance upgrade expanding into the new 2025+ model year J1.2 platform of Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GTs. We are the first company world-wide to offer this tuning for this lineup of high performance EVs from Germany!

After a tremendous amount of work our developer team unlocked access to the new generation of ECUs, which has a lot of untapped potential to improve the performance, driveability as well as every day functionality.

For the last few months we have been working in stealth mode and are slowly expanding this new area of performance upgrades across all models and trims.

Our very first customer of the new facelift gen cars was a brand-new 2025 RS e-tron GT Performance. It is quite the machine from the factory but we are able to unleash the full potential of this beast!

After install of our new ECU, the customer was able to log some data of his car during multiple 1/4mile runs and here is a graph visualizing the measured vehicle speed, HV battery current and voltage over time.

The third run resulted in the highest peak power number as the battery slowly warmed up after the initial runs. The peak current delivered by the battery at this run was right around 1205 Amp and the pack voltage drooped to 715 Volt which is normal and expected due to the battery internal resistance at these high current draws. We measured the quiescent current draw of any auxiliary systems at standstill before each run and subtracted this from the battery power delivery.

At its absolute peak the HV battery provided an astounding power of around 861kW and 1150 horsepower to the electric propulsion system on both axles. These are quite impressive numbers compared to the manufacturer provided 912 hp and 680kW in overboost.

These runs were taken at colder battery temps and battery voltage was not quite at maximum so we believe that there is still some more room for improvement.

The customer also compared 0-60mph times which resulted in some very impressive gains after our performance upgrade!

We are in the process of upgrading a customer 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo in the next week or so and we will post updates along the way.

We will have the full line-up of J1.2 models of ECU upgrades available in the near future so stay tuned ?!

The manufacturer quotes the power from the motors, not the power drawn from the battery. These two things are not the same. The power from the motors is a lower number, because the powertrain can never be 100% efficient.

For example the J1.1 Turbo S draws over 600 kW from the battery, to produce 580kW power from the powertrain.

Writing it like this is misleading - you can not compare two numbers where one is powertrain output power (supplied by manufacturer), and the other number is power train output power plus powertrain loss.

@prj Thank you for your interest.
The referenced manufacturer numbers are provided as point of reference for people unfamiliar with the new RS e-tron GT performance models. We do not declare our numbers as anything other than peak power delivered to the electric propulsion system. The results speak for themselves as pointed out by other forum members.

Appreciate the sponsorship to the site and the fact that there are customers happy with your tune. However would you at least fix this 613 lb-ft claim for the Taycan 4s on your website? It is proven otherwise and if you disagree feel free to explain. I think to acknowledge or at a minimum to fix this going forward is the right thing to do.

Why are some people hating on redshift? If you think you can do a better job with a tune at a lower price then please offer it to the public. Competition is always good and benefits the customers. I don’t know if a single person on this forum who has had the redshift tune and not been impressed by the gains. Especially those with Taycan 4 and GTS have a benefit that is just mind blowing. The majority of people don’t even understand the semantics of power, current, energy loss and so on. In the end what matters is whether the goal of more performance is achieved. If you can do a better job, please share with us. Until then please keep it gentle and positive.

I agree with some that the tone in this forum has been negative and is unbecoming of spirit of this community.

The differences are explained quite well in the top posts of part 1, part 2 & part 3, plus some supplemental clarification in the ensuing Q&A.

I think that the contention can be summarized as: you do not get to the same power, and certainly not the claimed numbers, by fiddling with calibration only, as opposed to changing the ASG firmware itself.

They're doing the same thing.

As "unbiased" notes, save for the torque figure noted, the offer is fundamentally the same. Fundamentally it will be being done the same way.

A 40% reduction in cost is not inconsiderable...but ultimately this is all a software function. The ASG unit itself is not the majority of the cost (but potentially a reasonable chunk of it), so the rest of the charge is simply what the vendor would like to charge for their expertise in making the software mods and the bits they've chosen to twiddle.

Both are as cagey as each other on warranty. In both situations, if Porsche knew about the mod and the car suffered a drivetrain failure (partial or full), you're going to be in trouble trying to claim against warranty. Being able to "hide" that a car is modified by swapping modules is not the same as modifications not impacting warranty. It might simply make it more difficult to know that modification was ever made in the first place. (Posting experiences on an open forum is probably as much of a tell tale as bits and bytes in an ECU somewhere ;)).

It's great that this stuff is available and good that competition is coming into the market.
