Would love to hear more about your experience and how the tune affects each mode. I also have a 4S.
Hi, I have a 4S up in Lincoln. I have had the mapEV for 4 months now, and it’s worth every penny. My car has been back to the dealers for a recall, so I’ve had 2 weeks of standard again, and it’s so slow. Putting the modded box back in this weekend and can’t wait.

If you think gas petrol tuning is more expensive overall based on the results, you have no idea what you’re talking about. I’ve tuned numerous AMG cars and Bentley’s for about half the price.
It is what it is
While in your example, you may be correct, it isn’t a blanket statement that it’s cheaper to tune conventional engined car. I have a TVR Cerbera, originally at 400bhp, now running circa 600bhp but probably cost at least 3x a mapEV tune. I don’t know the exact figure because I was frightened to keep track on costs 🤣

Hello mate. How’s your setup: do you drive in normal mode or the tube is set on sports/sports pulse ?

Whats it like from standstill? Does it feel like 730hp car?

I live in London so it’s rare I get to feel the power of the 4S but I like the idea of having better response and full power as and when needed.

I use the car for work trips and as a daily to the office, plus social when the TVR doesn’t want to play ball.
It gets used in all modes, but I try and get into sports plus before I mash the carpet.
It’s not the standstill bit that’s shocking. It’s the relentless pull until 165+. The only issue is remembering it’s a 2 ton car and takes some stopping even with PCCB. In this weather you can’t feel the power as it’s trying to wheel spin at all speeds and the traction control reins in the power. But it still squirms! I test drove a turbo before buying my 4s (spec was better) and the turbo is quite a bit faster than a standard 4s. And now I have more power than a turbo outside of launch. I might have had a play with a high powered sports bike and he couldn’t get away. On a private runway of course.

I drive exclusively in Normal or Sport Plus depending on my mood.

With the tune is like I have that extra confidence when mashing the throttle.

What surprised me the most, honestly, was how good the car feels in Normal mode. You sort of expect the stronger pull given the 200hp gain, and expect things to get crazier in Sport Plus, but Normal mode now feels veeery nice to use. More reactive, without even having to go to first gear at all. I use Normal mode for a couple of reasons but mainly because the Electric Sport Sound has a nicer buildup growl in Normal than Sport Plus (again when I’m in the mood for fake sound). The other day a model X tried to gap me, it couldn’t, and I wasn’t even using full throttle.

As someone else said to me, the initial cost hit is what it is, but once you get over it, you truly end up enjoying the result.
