Has anyone seen their reverse camera lens reduce to a small oval? See pic attached! I don’t know what has caused this on my Taycan 4S MY2020.

Appreciate any pointers.

Looks like the camera itself is loose? Do you see anything different?

It does look dislodged but pushing it doesn’t seem to re-seat. There feels like a spring behind it so it’s not completely loose. See pics below.

I think you've got to take it to the garage or at least a porsche specialist. They'll probably tell not you need to take the car off the chassis and disassemble the rear motor to fix it of course.

Looks like a cover is missing which holds the camera in place?

Missing cover.webp
Looks like it's pushed further in than that. Had a little bump or something i'd say, though hard place to bash without denting something else.

Exactly - no visible dents or scrapes. Wife did say when she reversed into parking bay, that the car braked hard when reversing into the spot. Does it have brake assist when the car is reversing to avoid hitting the wall? If not, maybe that’s where it hit but no visible marks, scrapes,

Also, good spot @MrBlueSky - maybe the cover dropped?

Yep - think you're right and the bump has dislodged the cover unfortunately. OP will need to take it in for repair by the look of it.

I think that's what has happened and something has made contact with the camera to cause it. Take it in and see what they say. Hopefully, it's just a replacement cover that's required and a simple fix. Then again, it's a Porsche..........

I'd say it also looks like the camera itself has a bit of rust on it, so I'd budget for Porsche adding a replacement camera as well as the retaining ring.

If only they could offer an upgraded quality replacement!

I myself don’t rely much on the reverse camera as I find it nearly unusable.

It looks to me like the lens(or lens stack) has become physically separated from the sensor by whatever has happened and part of the lens image is just falling on the central part of the sensing element. I would imagine if this is the case a new camera assembly will be required.

Haven't had that issue, but it's not so much worse than when it's working correctly.
