I picked up my GTS today. I’ll post some pics another time. The car went straight to detailer for ceramic and PPF.

Was sensory overload trying to figure some things out while driving for first time. There’s so many things to learn, there’s setting buried in settings etc…

A few questions…

Does the ride height automatically change based upon what drive setting is selected? If so, can someone fill me in as to what the respective settings default to.

Is the sport sound only on when in sport or sport plus?

At what speeds can you change the ride heights? For example, if I want to go over speedbump and raise height do I need to come to a compete stop first ? At what point will it ask me to remember that area again?

Are there any of you that just drive in sport plus all the time? How much efficiency am I really losing if i just keep it there ?

thanks

I could be wrong but in my 4S Cross Turismo...

I think sport mode simply stiffens the suspension and sports plus automatically lowers the car in addition to stiffening the suspension.

Sports sound comes on automatically with sports plus but it so easy to map a button next to the wheel to manually turn it on or off.

If you set the gps height raising then it will come on automatically at under 40kpm as you drive over that specific coordinate (its VERY accurate) and again after you move off and approach 40kph it turns off again.

Sports plus is a bit to bumpy for everyday use all the time, normal is great but sports defiantly gives you better cornering dynamics.

In default mode your ride height will be regular. Sport modes will lower your car. This is important to be mindful of if you're driving in unfamiliar roads that might have dips or large bumps.

> Is the sport sound only on when in sport or sport plus?

You can turn it on in any mode by tapping the car icon and adjusting the settings there.

> At what speeds can you change the ride heights? For example, if I want to go over speedbump and raise height do I need to come to a compete stop first ? At what point will it ask me to remember that area again?

You can change the ride heights to anything but "lifted" at any speed. Lifted can only be entered when you're moving at ~< 10mph I think. Maybe 15, but I think 10.

> Are there any of you that just drive in sport plus all the time? How much efficiency am I really losing if i just keep it there ?

The difference between range, normal, and sport plus for me in terms of estimates always seems to be +- 10 miles or so. Not a big enough deal to matter for day-to-day driving, may be more important for longer trips. I personally keep it in sport plus mode most of the time because it's way more fun to drive — and you get launch control :)

Oh! There's also a "lift the car" button on the dashboard on the top right corner. Took me a while to find this but it makes it way nicer when you're about to go over a driveway entrance or a dip. The only downside to this button is it doesn't seem to recommend remembering the location (at least not that I've seen).

Once you set and save a location for automatic lift, when the car reaches that location and your speed is under 20mph, the lift begins. Set the lift location so it starts and is fully lifted by the time your car reaches the point you want full lift. The car stays lifted until your speed exceeds 20mph.

Im pretty sure it does not lower the suspension in sports mode only sports plus.

Normal and Sports mode are the same height but sports mode stiffens the suspension over normal. You can physically see the car lowering as soon as you enter sports plus.

Height auto adjusts.

Depending on Drive Mode selected drive height will vary from Lift to Low

Range Drive mode will typically lower the car to its lowest setting as well as raise the rear spoiler (speed dependent) and shut off external vents etc.

Smart Lift - don't need to come to a complete stop but you need to allow the Sat Nav to catch-up once you have programmed a location so approach slowly until you get used to the behaviours. As soon as you touch the raise chassis level button you will be prompted to save or not.

Height can be adjusted at most speeds where the chassis hasn't already lowered (icon displayed on cockpit). Suggest just let the car do it's thing and use Smart Lift for speed bumps as needed.

Range is the great divider here and in UK / Europe range is generally lower (ambient temperature dependent) than warmer US states. For this reason Normal Drive Mode is probably the default for most as Sport drive mode does consume more battery - even at a standstill. We're only talking a few miles but it makes a difference (to some).

Note 1: If you're in Normal mode, for instance, the car is at normal height but if you manually lower the car it'll stay that way, the car remembers that setting the next time you'll start it.
Note 2: In Normal and Sport mode the car lowers itself when going over 90km/h and returns to normal height when you slow down again.
Normal and Sport are linked when it comes to ride height, very strange.

+! - re your Pt. 1 - I've been saying this for a year now but many either don't seem or want to believe it or my car is in some way unique, which it is clearly not :)!

I was just going to correct an earlier poster, but you guys nailed it. I have my default at the lowered setting, only going full low in Sport Plus. I never use normal ride height.

This wasn't always the case, especially on early cars.
After the uPdate every car should act the same now I guess. ?

Appendix on Note 1: When you go to Sport Plus mode it'll lower the car but when you start the car again, it'll start in Normal mode and rises to normal ride height again unless you've set it to low in Normal mode before.
Can you still follow? ?

Yeah all I can say is that with my Oct-Nov 2021 build of my 2022 model car it has always been this way. For 2020 and early 2021 builds it would indeed appear to have been different.

I have my car set so it is Low in Normal mode, and it's kept the setting like that.

It's great because I was considering getting lowering links or maybe even a CETE module as I knew I wasn't going to bother lowering the car every time I got in (if it didn't save), but the low mode is low enough for me for daily driving purposes (visually I'd prefer slightly even lower but would worry about battery height off ground).

Also retains full lift height, unlike if you use links since it drops each mode by a certain amount (CETE retains lift height but is expensive)
