Service cost

As has been said earlier here - go abroad for servicing on principle grounds. Cost 300-400 Euros

EU rules say that if the servicing meets manufacturers spec - it can't affect warranty - and it would be tricky for PorscheGB or VWFS to argue that an Irish, Belgian or dutch OPC did not know how to service UK Taycans.

in fact, in emails to me, PorscheGB said it would not affect warranty.

When it's time for my service (3 years from now) - I fully intend to deny GB dealers their hooky rip-off windfall - and would rather have a slap-up weekend abroad - than willingly let a UK OPC make fun of me.

I think if sufficient customers tell UK OPCs that is their intention - Porsche GB will have to relent.

They wont relent as so many are company cars because of tax rules in uk , so it just goes on expences

They list charging the battery while in for service as a line item…?

You know someone actually suggested that in a meeting…and then someone else thought it was a good idea…

But what were their alternatives…?

I cancelled my ct4s order because of this ridiculous service charge. Now awaiting etron gt . Service charge is £450. Same drivetrain and gubbins. Have always understood Porsche markup, exclusivity etc. But this is just a rip off.
Not about the money, honey. Proper principle for a change.

But this seems to be a U.K. feature only. Very surprise that Porsche would engage in this, but the U.K….?

Took my Taycan turbo in for software update today, it’s 500 miles from 1st service apparently ……. £825

anyone know what gets done for £825 ?

Sounds utterly ridiculous to me, wtf can you service on a ev ?

I had a few checkups, updates, little fixes and never paid anything so far, 18 months and 18k km.

What are the service packages - Porsche USA dealers are offering. I'm sure it's closer to UK than the German prices ? I should get prices from the dealer next week, but pretty sure, it might be around $3k

If I had a Taycan in the UK I would go to Germany much more often to get some Autobahn time.

There is a separate thread for servicing in the UK section and this was posted on it recently:

A Member on the Uk taycan Facebook group, just reported a 20k mile service costs of £290 all in. He had it done at Colchester OPC. This compares well with Continental OPC pricing.

Someone else in the group was quoted £650 from a London OPC - but at least even that is less than Porsche GB contact pricing at £2300+ for 2 services.

Looks like common sense is (slowly) prevailing.

i got a quote for a 30K KM serivce in the UAE for AED5300 (GBP 1157 in today's exchange rate). What a rip off. If any members in the UAE have an alternative, please let me know

That seems extremely good value, I paid more than that to get my 2 Series serviced (but I do live in Brighton not Gateshead)

One thing though, it looks like the EU Block Exemption is anti-competition legislation that was grandfathered in after the UK left the EU but is only in force in the UK until 31st May 2023. Who knows what happens after than:

Also, when it comes to selling your car for it to be 'Porsche Approved' I'm pretty sure it needs to have been serviced by OPCs so even if Porsche can't wriggle out of the warranty if you get your car serviced there, the resale value may suffer a bit

I followed your link and observed the following

I do not think these guys have any experience at all on a Taycan!
Oil change!
Oil filter change
Plug change (if needed) !!!!

Why not service at a Porsche dealer when you have invested in such a nice car?
