Every time I use a 350kW EA station, I get the slowest charging speed at 65kW. And at 150kW stations, I frequently see 170+kW. What the fuсk is wrong with EA????? This is infuriating. There are places with only 350kW chargers. I am at one right now.

yeah there are sooooo many variables as to why a charge rate is what it is - basically without full logs from both sides of the situation you can't know why you're not getting a full charge rate.

you as the user are not doing anything "wrong" but the only you can try different things to see if they make a difference.

the best you can do is change station stalls and hope for better next door…the other stall

but yeah it's not yet reliable.

I'm pretty sure it's an EA thing related to something in the 350kw chargers. We've been doing a bit of EA charging while I wait for parts to install our home evse. The 350's have randomly given me 65kw, and switching to a 150kw next to it will see 140-155kw. Two other times switching from one 350 to another 350 resulted in 65kw to >200kw, so it wasn't the state of the battery in the car. In all situations mentioned we were the only car at the station, so no overall site capping due to other charging sessions. Other times with more cars charging at multiple stations its been even more inconsistant.

The 350s seem to be hit or miss. The 150s seem stable and consistent.

I remember hearing somewhere that when the EA station has a faulty temperature sensor it will cap the output at a fixed level -- that might have been 65kw. Not sure though where i got this from, maybe a fully charged YouTube video with Kyle??

I charged on the road several times over the past 4 days on long trips. 350KW EA Chargers ARE slower, however, I did charge twice at a brand new 150KW Charger and I got 6.5mi/min charge rate (vs. 4.4 on the 350KW charger).

FWIW, YMMV (I guess it should be....YCRMV....Your Charge Rate May Vary). :)

YCRMV, no doubt.

In July when we had consistent 108* temps, the local EA 350kw charger had a warning that it was capped at 150kw, which it pushed to the car.

Recent roadtrip through south/Midwest, all but two 350kw charger (used 11 different chargers) pushed max speed. Of those two, one floated around 200kw and the other was at 130kw, though I speculated it was partially due to a polestar in the adjacent 350kw charger. On the functioning chargers, had two bad cords - when switching to other cord on same charging unit gave 250kw+. Overall very impressed with the infrastructure, though I admit to being lucky with few issues and all chargers being available at most stops.
