warranty - are there any out there that are worth getting that don't have a million exclusions?
You need to pick your own risk level and balance with cost. Personally I'd not buy a Taycan from anywhere other than an OPC and with anything other than a Porsche warranty. But you might make a different choice.

Personally after buying my first Taycan and being on my second. No I would not recommend to buy one. Even outside of depreciation, service costs are far too much for this vehicle. Owning outside of battery warranty just is to risky in my eyes due to the known manufacturing faults of the battery cells. With that said it’s an amazing vehicle and you owe it to yourself to get one. I would personally just lease a nice cpo one for a year or two then return it and rinse and repeat.
What do you mean with service costs? My service costs with my 2021 4S (91 000 km) have been lower than in any car I have ever owned. And I have owned many.
If you count extended warranty costs as service costs, that somewhat changes the situation. But the same applies to every vehicle.

Cant agree on the service costs at all. And battery warranty is 8 years, so even for the oldest Taycans, it's still almost 3 years to go.

By service I meant warranty repairs. My first taycan in just two years of ownership required over 100k in warranty repairs and those are Porsches cost not owners. Second taycan has been in the shop since two days after delivery. Needless to say I have no faith in these vehicles. If you are fine with a random 6-10k repair then go for it with out a warranty.

I’m certainly sorry to hear that you’ve had so many problems, and across two different vehicles. At the same time my maintenance and warranty experience couldn’t be more different.

I’ve owned two Taycan 4s (2020 and 2021 for 4+ years), and have had only a few minor service expenses (e.g., windshield wipers, an 20k service, and rear tires). I can’t put a number on the cost of warranty repairs, but it can’t be anywhere close to your experience. I’ve only had a failed cabin/HV battery heater, and the brake line replacement and flush. All the rest of the items are SW updates (oh, and the pigtail replacement for the PMCC).

This has been the best car I’ve ever owned in terms of service issues, but I purchased an extended warranty prior to my 48 mo warranty ended for my own peace of mind.

Oh I don’t think everyone will have my experience. However if anything goes wrong you are stuck with Porsche service so any small thing that happens is a mid 5 figure bill. It’s not like the ice Porsches where we can go to independents we are stuck with Porsches exorbitant costs. If you only plan to own in warranty then yes go for it it’s an amazing vehicle. However I could never recommend anyone have one without a warranty at least not right now.

All of our local independent euro shops work on Taycans. Short of working on the HV battery, everything else is the same. Definitely don’t go to the stealership unless you’re doing warranty work.

Wish that was the case for the US.

Seems that Thailand is the place to go for independent Taycan service, based on the posts here. They know much more than the Porsche designers of the vehicle!
