That was very interesting. It's the first MY2020 I've heard of that doesn't have 3d surround view despite the 360 camera + sensors. Wondering then which additional option is needed on MY2020 to get 3d surround view in PCM?

It will be very interesting to hear what response the OP gets from his dealer. I myself have a 360 camera in my 2022, but without 3d surround view and would love to have it if it could be obtained via software update.
3D was an option back in the day. Back then (at launch) there were 3 upgrades to option the full parking setup.

Possibly only introduced starting from MY21 cars. Picture posted is from yours truly. MY22 car with Surround view optioned not the more expensive Remote park assist which gives the IMO less useful '3D' view.

That could be the answer. I have not got the remote parking feature but have park assist with 360 view etc. which I think is the top option apart from remote parking? Got all the cameras and here is all the views I can choose. Very surprised if that should be a 2021 option only since it mostly has to be SW. But again that probably is Porsche differentiation like in the old times.

I have the most expensive option: remote park assist. But I miss the curb view!! 3D is a funny gimmick but not really usable. I totaled one wheel because it doesn’t show the curbs clearly

Nicely spotted. This definitely clarifies which car have it and which don't and why.

I find it weird that cars with more hardware / extra sensors don't get that view. Remove a feature just for the sake of removing a feature...

It definitely seems like just a weird software restriction. I will try my luck with the guys at my dealer in Geneve, maybe they can reach out to Stuttgart over the border and get a fast answer.
@chun Did you ever figure out a way to get the side/kerb/curb view? Like you, I have a 2020 with park assist with surround view, the extra cameras in the mirrors, and no remote park assist, but I don't have that 3rd button. The discussions around this are confusing. Did Porsche just take away that view with a software update, and if so, is there a way to get it back? What did your dealer say? Thanks in advance.

No, never figured out.

My dealer at the time said it's either 3d view or that, can't have both.

What a shame. I'd rather have this side / curb view to help with narrow garage entrances and parking. I find the 3D views just gimmicky. Wonder how someone would choose the side view.
Thanks for the response.
