Slow charging on 350kw fast chargers

Hello,
I've searched everywhere for help with this but can't seem to find an answer. Whenever I charge at an Electrify America 350 kW fast charger, I can only pull a maximum of 50 kW, even when the battery is down to 30%.

I have a '24 model with the Performance+ battery and the 150 kW option, plugged into the passenger side port. It’s definitely not the chargers since I regularly pull 125-150 kW on our IX at the same chargers.

Is there a setting to enable fast charging?

Did you use the PCM to navigate to the charger? It's required to precondition (pre-heat) the battery.

Also there is a option in PCM to "keep the battery more healthy" which you might have active and therefor it limits charging speeds to preserve the battery.

I have that checked and find it restricts charging only slightly...I commonly see 125-150 on 350 chargers...I don't think using that option forces a 50 rate (at least in my experience)

Could be, on its own. But in combination with battery temperature, it might add up. Maybe...

You definitely should test a different charger. Set the charger as destination in PCM, arrive with 20% or less. Further, you need the battery to be at least 95 degrees which takes at least 30 minutes of preconditioning from cold ( having set the PCM's destination to the charger).

Lastly the EA site would need to be empty to pull the maximum speeds, if fully occupied, they load balance and you'll pull a max 150kw.

one trick I use to precondition without actually driving the car around is to set the HPC destination in PCM and then just idle the car for 30 minutes.

Your car likely has a preconditioning feature to warm the battery for optimal charging. Set the Electrify America station as your navigation destination 15-20 minutes before arriving. This signals the battery management system to prep for fast charging.

Is your car J1.1 or newer J1.2? If J1.2 the charging screen in the instrument cluster indicates if the car or charger are limiting the power delivery.

I find that the "battery-health" enforcer, when on, keeps my peak DCFC charging to roughly 50-60 kW below what I get when it's turned off.

SAME HERE- I have tried 3 chargers in past week AND have preconditioned.
I believe it is Charge America that has slowed down the amount of charge we get as it is free (30 minutes). New owners/accounts no longer receive this perk when buying a new Audi/Porsche car.

You may have enabled a setting that slows charging down to improve longevity. Also, lack of pre-conditioning the battery will cause it to slow charging. And I will note that my experience w/ 150 chargers is often better than the 350!
