I have owned my Taycan for a couple of months now and sense the charging is very slow at home vs the previous Tesla cars I owned. See below and maybe you can help me understand. I have profile 85% selected which equates to around 185 miles. I am charging from 44%/94 miles using 6.8 kw.
185-95=91 miles to get to 85%. That should take about 4.5 hours at 20 miles per hour (usually quoted charge rate for 7kw). Photo taken at 10:36 and charged predicted to finish at 6:58, about 9.5 hours later rather than 4.5 hours I expect. Any thoughts on why. I am using a Tesla wall charger and car is displaying 6.8kw which I would expect. Frustration is that it spills onto high cost tariffs than night rates between 12 and 4:30am

You have to us a combo of Timers and Profiles to customize charging. This link has been a big help.

Thank you but the car is set to the correct timers (between 12 and 6am) and the profile is between 20 and 85%. It is charging at 10:36pm because it believes it needs until 6:58am to get to 85%. That is what makes no sense.

Do you have any timers with cabin pre-conditioning enabled? Car may be trying to optimize both timing and energy usage for that.

It doesn’t look like you have the timer or profile properly configured/set. If it is charging based on them, should see them show up on the screen

Thanks - I will try to reproduce your screen. Was the timer setup in app or in car?

Let’s be honest the Porsche app as well as the Porsche charging experience is just awful, woeful even.

How they manage to make the app so slow at communicating with the car I don’t know.

Then the charging - to have to study how to charge your car and then hope it is charged is crazy. Profiles and timers - really poor. Direct charging - how do you direct charge to 85% and stop?

it should be super simple sliding bar to set charge limit and sliding bar to set the charge time window if you have an off peak tariff. None of this other nonsense

I have a Taycan and a Tesla - never even had one issue in the Tesla - charges like a dream and so easy to set.

The Taycan - not sure I can get to double figures as to how many times it has charged as I planned. I’ve had the car three years and love driving it but the charging is terrible.

I wish Porsche would do updates to the app and car to enhance this sort of stuff. They could learn a lot from Tesla for sure.
