Ok, I did a search and came up empty. When I start my car, the PCM automatically loads into CarPlay as the default media source, when I would much prefer it default to Sirius XM, rather than have to switch it every time I start the car, is there a way to get the PCM to default startup in XM instead of CarPlay?

This is my #1 (actually the only) problem with the PCM. Loading CarPlay seems to bump off the Sirius XM connection. Then I get an error message saying the Sirius XM subscription has changed. Once I click off the message Sirius XM eventually reloads and reconnects. The process takes about 60 seconds. Its very annoying but after a year I've finally resigned to the fact that this is going to happen everyday. Any fix solutions would be much appreciated.

My main gripe with the PCM too. Radio comes on for a few seconds, then goes to CarPlay related silence.
It did actually seem to sort itself out for a while and do what i wanted (ie stay on the radio), but it is back to having to switch back to my choice.

CarPlay did intermittently have a similar effect on our other car as well, albeit that was a wired connection. I think the problem with it may be a little more to do with Apple assuming you want everything from them 100%, rather than a porsche fault. All I want is Waze alerts running in the background, or i'd turn it off.

Maybe a setting on the iPhone somewhere might hold the key.

I'm not entirely sure how it works exactly, but I think you can go into the device menu and deselect CarPlay for you phone, which should stop it from automatically launching when you start the car.

Of course, this will prevent CarPlay from loading entirely, so if you want to load it you will have to go back into the device menu and tap on the CarPlay icon again.

Yep you can deselect it in the car. But then you need to push a load more buttons to get it on when you want it.
What we want is be able to have it automatically hooking up and ready for us to use those parts of it we want, rather than it just behaving like a vampire squid and deciding what it thinks we we want to listen to.

I also hate that Carplay shuts off the last-used audio source.

It should not do this.

Mine stopped doing this on it’s own about a month or two ago after some OTA updates. It had been doing it since day 1 when the feature was enabled but it hasn’t done it now in quite some time. I was set to praise Porsche for actually fixing the bug, but I guess it did not hit everyone. The OTA fix (again, I assume this fixed it) is the only thing that resolved it. Nothing I ever did or heard of fixed it.

Mine stopped for a week or so, then started again.

I took my car back to the dealer for the same issue. The tech said they are aware of the issue but no fix that he was aware of. As for me I just got use to hitting the “star” when the PCM starts up which brigs back the last station I had on when the car turned off.

That is correct
