Porsche TSB Parking or Storing the Taycan
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10209809-0001.pdf
Admittedly still learning a lot about battery technology, voltage, current, etc... but for Taycan storage, the latest Porsche bulletin recommends...There are a few threads on here. But it seems the last big software update made the HV battery able to keep the 12v battery charged up. However, it will only do that for a certain number of cycles between the the car being unlocked (or used maybe?). Anyway if you can remember to go sit in it from time to time to restart the 12v charge function from the HV battery, do that. Or put a trickle charger onto the 12v battery as well.
For optimal HV battery health, keep the car plugged in and between 20-50% state of charge. Makes complete sense.
The 12V battery should maintain a sufficient charge, as it will draw from the HV battery over that same period of time... provided you "wake" the car up every now and again; however, this bulletin recommends charging the 12V battery every 8 weeks of storage... at 14.4V and 80A (??!!) for at least 65 minutes.
What would a consumer use to charge their 12V battery - particularly at the 80A recommendation? I must be missing something.
