Taycan 4s April delivery

So the process, even now that the car is actually available, is to hold a reservation? The salesperson seemed to suggest that I would be placing an order, so that’s probably my misunderstanding. Thank you!

This was my experience, reserved a year ago, give dealership deposit to hold the reservation. Then dealer gets an allocation (each dealership gets certain amounts of allocations) you can choose to take the allocation once the dealership gets one or it goes to the next person on the list of reservations, unless the dealership has a empty allocation or a demo model you can't buy a car.

Was that when it was originally scheduled to go in?

Originally I am supposed to go in on 1/24, and go to v250 last friday...but still at v210.

I didnt get a schedule, but was glad to hear that I got progress, never bought a new Porsche, not sure how long it takes in the body shop, read it takes a month to get from Germany to the US, any past owners experience would be helpful, thanks

Your dealer can give you the estimated schedule. It is in the system. Now that you are in production, it is probably a bit more certain.

V250 1/10 Vehicle Fixed (e.g. no changes)
V260 1/24 Entry to body shop
V270 2/14 Exit production
V300 2/14 Vehicle completion
V331 2/21 Entry port Emden
V332 3/13 Exit port Emden
U014 4/10 Entry Port Benicia
U015 4/24 Exit Port Benicia

Thanks, that gives me some expectations, I am sure we are in the same batch. Can't wait.. never had a new Porsche before, so this is a big deal for me.

Has anybody heard from their dealers when EPA certification of the 4S is expected? I imagine that even if the dealers receive the vehicles, that cannot be sold prior to receiving EPA certification.

BTW, with respect to timing and production steps, my dealer told me my Turbo has a V210 status. Could someone enlighten me on what that means? Also, I was sent a list of other “V” codes, which seem to correspond with the steps Reg lists, but the list starts with V250.

I edited my post with the other v codes.
V210 means the order is in and was accepted, V250 means it is locked (e.g. no changes)

If the EPA does a similar derating from WLTP it will be 206 and all the anti-bodies will have it all over the news...

I personally feel that Porsche does too good of a job derating figures to guarantee attainability and the the EPA derates them because most other manufacturers over-rate figures.
I am expecting to pretty easily see 250mi highway range on a Taycan Turbo (if not too cold) more like 65-70F. And 275mi on a 4S, that's my hope anyway.
This is in Normal or Range mode and HVAC on ECO mode, hard driving Sport or Sport+ and YMMV.
