Taycan 4S pricing change

I spec'd the same car 3 months apart. Both 2022, and there's a $4500 difference. I looked through every item, and found subtle changes. Sharing here as I've not come across any such thing before. Also, this focuses on the Premium Package (so US customers only). Just FYI

I think it is configurator issue. The 14 ways seat is more expensive than 18 way doesn't make any sense. My 2022 is now $6k more with the same options.

I was about to place an order today and my build is totally messed up because of the $7,400 Premium Package no longer available but the one it replaces looks broken as it lists Bose for example as part of the price but then double charges for it again separately at $1,200. Something is going on and I hope they fix it so the nonsense that we are seeing will go away. I have not seen them do this kind of redo of packages and prices in the middle of the order year (current is 2022 and they have some on the lot that were just delivered). I let my dealer know but they are usually lazy and clueless to do anything about it such as calling PCNA and letting them have it.

there’s another thread ‘on LED headlights’. Have a look at it. Some of these changes have happened because of part availability. For instance the LED headlights or Bose. my belief is it’s not a mess up with the configurator.

Looks like a configurator glitch. My order in TYD also went missing with premium package. Interestingly if you configure taycan RWD the premium package shows $7300 and has all options included but for 4S its showing way too weird. I will wait a day or so and will contact the dealer just to make sure my car comes with premium package and Black matrix headlights .

Some oddities I've noticed for the 4S configurator:

• The default 19" wheels come with All-Seasons checked by default. Selecting the 20" Aero Turbo wheels causes All-Seasons to be unchecked.
• If you click on the info icon for Premium Package, the Fixed Panoramic Glass Roof, BOSE, Lane Change Assist and ventilated front seats are still listed as part of the option. All these options now cost money.

I'd imagine this is a glitch and that it would be odd for Porsche to change the 2022 configurator like this with such drastic price changes. It also makes the Premium Package a terrible value since it would now, AFAICT, only include Power Folding Exterior Mirrors, Surround View, Ionizer, LCA and Storage Package for $6k.

its so interesting, even the CT 4S is showing the same issue. Now on my build which is locked has PDLS black matrix light missing which i ordered . Way my car was configured ended up being $145000 and now its $142500 . Clearly because pdls option went missing.Waiting for the dealer to open and see what happened and how Porsche can change the order without even telling its customers.

So I talked to the dealer and he told that Porsche has problems with supply chain and they dont have any Matrix lights available. So he gave me 2 options either to go with Basic led or cancel the order and put the order when they are available.
That is one of the reason why they changed the premium package as they have to remove those PDLS Matrix lights from those.
I really like the way the Matrix lights look and will not accept a $145k car to have basic leds.
Unfortunately i had to cancel my order.

Did you move onto another allocation? The Matrix headlights in the US functions the same as the standard LED w/ PDLS. The only reason why I am now hung up on them is the hope that Porsche will enable the full Matrix functionality given the soon to be updated DOT rules for adaptive headlights.

i really liked the way the Matrix one looked. The dealer cancelled my order. Looks like my dream for Taycan is over ! The most impressive thing for me were the Matrix headlight’s and now going with out them will always make me think i should have waited. So for me it was a no ! And i proceeded to cancel my order.

Porsche should really be looking for a better way of rolling out their changes to reduce downtime and minimize bugs. People are forgiving about their tech for now, but this type of reputational impact does erode their brand.

Might be able to see what the impact of the latest package/pricing changes are. It also impacted the dealer's build sheets.

Do you mean the way they look on the car? I can barely tell any difference in the configurator view between matrix and standard headlights. Do they look very different IRL?
