My 22 Taycan isn’t charging right after one year. I took it to the dealer and he confirmed that the settings were right and said my likely issue is at home. Is there a diagnostic test to determine if the device is working properly before I have to hire an electrician?

we're going to need more information and perhaps a picture of the PMC+/PMCC - that being said it could be a LOT of reasons - did the dealer test your vehicle or also test your PMC+/PMCC?

what type of plug is it plugged into?
what Porsche charger are you using?
what type of power supply cable is attached?
have you unplugged and plugged the charger back in to reboot the charger?
have you turned off the breaker and turned it back on?
is the charger showing an error on screen?
have you checked to make sure the breaker has not tripped?
can you plug your EV Charger (called an EVSE) into another plug somewhere else to verify it's working
have you inspected the plug it's plugged into to make sure it's not melted or faulty?
did the dealer actually test your Taycan to verify they could charge it at the shop with one of their chargers?
an error like this is not settings based - it's an electrical fault - sometimes cleared by switching the circuit breaker off and then back on.

yes there are diagnostic steps - this is difficult to do remotely - it could a large number of things to try - we know the car is good - so it's something to do with the Porsche charger or your charger circuit.

good luck.

Find someone else with an EV:
1) Try charging your car with their portable charger on same outlet/ different outlet
2) Try charging their car with your charging setup

Take your Taycan to a public AC (Level 2) charger somewhere nearby. Does it charge properly there?
is the problem you experience at home every time, or intermittent?
Does the problem occur immediately when you start charging at home, or after some time during a charge session?
Does the problem occur on both left and right side charge ports?
Did your dealer actually see if your charger would charge a different Taycan, or did he just look at the charger settings?

Thanks for all the troubleshooting questions. I’m on a 40amp line in a new construction home (1 year old). The power was fine until last 30 days.
j just tried the right side port and the charger functioned perfectly. While the left was wonky. It never finished the charge and reported a charging error. Net net is right side is working while left isn’t.

Mine started doing this after a year also. I believe it is heat related.
Trying switching to "50%" charge rate by pressing and holding that button after resetting the power to the unit.
It will take longer to charge, but will avoid the error.

Is this a warranty issue?
You have not identified what EVSE you are using. If what you are using is a Porsche EVSE, it is not a warranty problem, it is a purchased wrong product problem. Many posts/threads in this forum about those problems, including some in this thread.

could be a warranty problem with the left side charging port - should have dealer check it out - if it's a Porsche PMC+/PMCC then bring that in along with the service visit.

tell the dealer everything works fine on one side and not the other o- that should give them enough to go on.

everything should work 100% correctly on both sides.

If you can charge car with both ports at a public AC charger (non-Porsche), then it is unlikely the problem is the car.

An unreliable EVSE might work intermittently, depending on temperature, etc. Does it consistently work on one port and not the other, including on days with different temperatures?

Porsche TSBs about their EVSEs essentially advise dealer to recommend running them at 50% power. Not a lot of dealer diagnostics for the EVSE.

Is this a warranty issue?
In summary....
There is a known issue with the Porsche product that is related to under sizing of the cable, causing it to get too hot, causing the fault you're seeing. The solution they have instructed is to limit the charge current (increasing the time). They are not admitting this a product warranty issue at this time.
