That sounds a bit drastic. Especially when there is no data connection to re login. Might involve OPC if I can’t get it sorted. PITA

It’s complete rubbish, very intermittent, feels like it has a mind of it’s own, been trying for 20 mins to connect via the app to activate climate but just not connecting, icon just keeps going round and round very frustrating.

If the software is trying to connect to 3G would provide an explanation but would of thought they would of scripted multi frequencies if one is not available…but if there was a issue with it searching, it might explain somewhat.

Taycan uses 4G. And. No. There is no wifi.

Okay so VF are quite stable with their service so that rules that theory out. Shame about not being able to switch to Wi-Fi for updates as that’s a more stable option, sign of Porsche software tech no being the b3st where as many competitors use both as a good process to iron out the many countries with varying mobile coverage levels.

I have had problems with the data connection in my Taycan Turbo S for nearly three years. It is very intermittent, and hasn’t worked this time round since June 2023.
The attached photo shows that the car is not receiving a signal, even though my phone shows a very strong signal. It is going into the dealership again next week.
Is your car receiving a signal?

4g def not as secure as an encoded passworded Wi-Fi. But security wouldn’t really have a positive/negative impact with over the air updates.

There is way to check both data provider and signal strengh from the PCM menu.
In France, SFR is the internal SIM provider as shown here :
