Yes but grown adults with manners can express their opinions of a car in a non shitty way especially when it's the car of a fellow forum member here, not just some random car being posted.Yes, but when you ask strangers for their opinion don't be shocked when they disagree. For all you know they are a bunch of colour blind, tone deaf, mass murderers. The only person who's opinion counts is your wife, followed by any teen age children, followed by the inlaws, followed by the neighbours, followed by..................
Maybe in the UK, but in the US, low end Chinese cars will never get a foothold. Americans buy and large don’t even want to buy EVs. Fewer still want them to be Chinese.Far East/China is becoming a big threat to the big Western brands.
When I was in SA, I really wanted to drive the Great Wall Motor sub-brand Haval and their Jolion SUV.
I do hate SUVs, but was on a 3km road trip, so wanted something that felt safer, and allowed me to ram any dangerous animal or gun wielding fiend out of the way.
Unfortunately, neither of the latter two things happened, which did detract from some of the excitement, but Haval is a major threat to established marques at their price point.
A former JLR exec helped design the thing, so much of the exterior and interior styling is similar to a Range Rover.
The difference is, the Haval Jolion has a £15k price tag, which is obscene for how much kit comes with the car, and its road presence.
I did hate driving it round those twisty mountain roads as the steering was very SUV - sluggish and too much body sway - but if it was ever made available in the West, the likes of VW, Ford, Vauxhall, etc would have serious problems.
It's going that way already with Hyundai and Genesis.
I expect price depreciation in new cars from 2025 as it gets super competitive with EV and ICE vehicles that are being shipped in from the East...
For a certain segment of the market they will be quite attractive if the price and quality is good (and they don't start shooting at each other). Probably in urban and suburban areas first, like the Japanese cars were. I recall back in the 60's and early 70's the criticism (and fear) some people in the US had over Japanese cars.Maybe in the UK, but in the US, low end Chinese cars will never get a foothold.
Never say never dude... That's what the US car industry said about the Japanese in the 60s....and the Korean car industry in the 80s-90s...Maybe in the UK, but in the US, low end Chinese cars will never get a foothold. Americans buy and large don’t even want to buy EVs. Fewer still want them to be Chinese.
And people have been using that as an argument for Chinese dominance for the past two decades. Zero progress. And the U.S. auto market today is nothing like it was 50-60 years ago.Never say never dude... That's what the US car industry said about the Japanese in the 60s....and the Korean car industry in the 80s-90s...
Looks great, IMO - congratulations!Hey all. I know this is a bit off-topic but I just took delivery of a Genesis GV60 Performance+ Compact SUV. This vehicle is rare as hen's teeth in North America, so I was lucky to get a slot from the 1,500 vehicle allotment for Canada & USA for 2022 / 2023…

Yeah, I know, the range isn't great, the battery is smaller (77 kWh), but damn if the Koreans aren't getting good at breaking into the luxury market. This is a very well-appointed and beautiful small SUV, and I paid MSRP (no mark-up) at $80,000 CDN (around $71,000 USD).
SPECS: 2023 GV60 PERFORMANCE, AWD, 470HP and 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds, so ain't no slouch either.
Here's a few pics. Feel free to ask questions or comment.
BTW my 2021 Taycan 4S is still #1 in my heart, don't worry.
