I beg to differ. My neighbor had an attempted burglary (thief triggered a house alarm and took off), and came to me to see if my cameras caught any useful footage. We saw the thief, wearing a motorcycle helmet, walking on the sidewalk, past my house. You could see him (or her) starting to walk on my driveway, noticing the cameras, then changing their mind and moving on to my neighbor’s house. Worth noting that I don’t hide my cameras, they are not hard to spot, especially at night when they glow red with infrared illumination.certainly from a UK perspective, security cameras are no deterrent to a car thief. Might give you evidence of what time of the day it was done and how many were involved. Faraday box at home. What I don't do is have a faraday pouch in briefcase. Should do that really if car parked near workplace. Ive started to use a steering lock.
I learned long time ago that you don't have to outrun a bear trying to eat you, you just have to run faster than most people around you.
