I've twice had mine to the hopping tire place in my community (what the average white circles use) and they didn't seem at all intimidated by the concept of raising the Taycan off the ground and removing 20 screws and changing four tyres. No muss, no fuss, no problems.

Sorry for your experience - sounds like it sucks and I'll make no excuses for your poor service experiences. That dealer should be avoided and ideally replaced.

Flip side is that my experience is completely different. Zero issues (except for a heater replacement and the usual recalls), fairly rapid service at the local dealer (same day if it is a tire replacement - a week or two for something else, and always a loaner). Of course the PCM was flakey to start with, but the upgrades have improved it quite a bit, and I suppose I've gotten used to a few quirks.

Best car I've ever driven; best looking of any car out there; overall best car I've ever owned.

Got my centerlock wheels swapped over to winters recently and my first time bringing any of my Porsche's to a local tyre shop that talked a good talk re: handling centerlocks.

While we got there in the end, I defo had to fight hard for it to be done correctly: (a) car lifted up while wheels being tightened, (b) 600 Nm of torque applied to the centerlock nut and (c) releasing the pressure 45 degrees and tightening again to 600 Nm.

Hmmmmmm .... might pay the Porsche tax next time. My issue there isn't so much the cost, but the queue to get in.

I am lucky that there is a used car dealer near me specialising in Porsches so my local tyre specialist has all the correct tools and procedures for Porsche wheels.
I haven't put my winters on yet, a job for next week!

Tough to have bad experiences.
My Taycan has not been 100% reliable but it is certainly the best car I have ever owned, I don't want a piston engined car ever again and there isn't an EV I am aware of that gets near the Taycan as a car, so I am keeping mine another 3 years.

That is the smartest way to get into this car.
Honestly probably one of the best values in Porsche right now.
I wish I had known this was going to be the case when I ordered mine in 2021...
OTOH despite there being loads for sale here in the UK I haven't seen one with a spec I, with my unusual taste, would be totally happy with.
It also means one's car is unlikely to be stolen.

Hmmm… I’m thinking if you read forums about any given make/model out there people only take the time to shout out about any negative issues. This is one of those one in a… whatever number but the reality is that anything at any price is fallible.
I’ve had any and all high end vehicles and with the exception of Porsche (have had 15), have had issues with all of them.

Anything man made can and may let you down.

Enjoy the ride and forget all the other stuff 🤓
I mostly agree with you. But:

The MS90D I had many years ago was a total desaster and it shouted, that the car was made by people know nothing!

My Taycan shows clearly the lack of experience Porsche had in making a great EV. The batteries at least of the early versions, a total disaster. The AC barly copes with extrem temps and has failures, too. The glassroof so hot, can boil an egg. The software, the navigation all a poor effort. The app to remote control the car a total failure. All other digital services here in China, none existent. No innodrive, just old ACC from 2002, and 6 months in the shop over 4 years of ownership.

I bought a Huawei S800 autonomous luxury ride! Let's see how it goes with that new car-new platform-new tech...

This seems like a general Porsche gripe vs Taycan. Not that I disagree with anything here. In fact - I now also have zero desire for a 911 as a lot of my gripes are not Taycan specific. I think I’d go also go back to bmw for a m4 or m6 next. Ideally the electric Neue Klasse.

Well - emotionally I still want/desire a 911 (and even my Taycan) but all the other issues just makes my brain go nope.

The numerous faults, dealer issues and wait times, combined with a lack of loan cars eventually wore me down into submission.

Somehow, made to feel I was lucky to be a Porsche customer, despite all the crap service.

Sold the car a year ago and more than happy back in a BMW since.
Shall never be buying another Porsche unfortunately.

I'm purchased 25+ new Porsches. If my Taycan had been the first my total ownership would have been 1. Worst Porsche I've ever owned. I'm pretty chill about new tech having issues but I'm not tolerant of the lack of updates, lack of accurate information and expensive but crappy service.

I might just have been lucky. My 2023 have been in exactly 1 time besides the services and that was for the brake recall. The remainder have been done when I had it in for regular service.

Having done just short of 80kkm and never had any issues it seems to be better than the average for the model. Which is a shame.

Having no bad experiences with the dealer either and that seems to be one of the major issues. One thing is that the car has issues - But reading stories here about months in service etc. is really disappointing.

Here in Denmark the market for 911 etc. is very small (due to extreme taxes on cars in general - Where EV's are exempt). So even though the dealers do not love working on them they have sold way more taycans than any other models. Now it have shifted completely to Macan EV but the picture is the same. That might have forced them to be better at handling the EV's

Mixed bag for me. I've had 3 Boxsters, 3 911s, and now 2 Taycans.

All the ICE Porsches had expensive upkeep, and most had a minor problem here or there.
PCM replacement, water pump failure, Targa windstop causing a rattle, etc.

My 2021 Taycan base had a ton of PCM bugs, and a lot of recalls, but was otherwise uneventful.
I was actually really happy to stay out of the service bay; I hate leaving my car with someone else.

The 2023 GTS has been a bit less lucky, not necessarily due to Porsche. I took a rock to the glass roof that was an expensive and multi-week repair. And now going through...whatever the electrical error turns out to be for a month.
