- GTB1 Race Cayman, Taycan Turbo S
If you plan on keeping the car for a while, then just from an economic standpoint, the Turbo S is a good choice. If you figure the actual cost of the car over time, I think the Turbo S will be pretty close to the Turbo after resale value. I'll bet the Turbo S is more 'desirable' in the aftermarket, so I don't think the depreciation will be as much, so let's assume a 5% difference.
Turbo list for $151K at 60% depreciation =$60K
Turbo S list for 185K at 55% depreciation =$83K
Now figure you have optioned out the Turbo with an additional $20K vs $10K on the Turbo S, and these basically depreciate to $0. You paid a total of $171-$60=$111K for the Turbo and $195-83=$112K for the Turbo S. Financially it's a wash, and you've driven a Turbo S for 5 years!
