I'm surprised it's more than a Range Rover to be honest and so much more than the e-Tron

I found the multi car cover with Admiral was the cheapest for me too. There was a condition in that I had to have a tracker fitted but the chances are I would have done that anyway
Just beware the additional cost of a tracker...

I think the Porsche one is £300 a year. Wasn't remotely worth it for me bearing in mind the cost of a policy that doesn't require one, the ball ache of carrying fobs (not sure if they can go on a phone) and that I don't want it back if some scrote nicks it.

I find that quite hard to believe personally.

Of all cars available on the UK market, a Taycan is most expensive to insure?

?

It was a bit less than that by memory but without it insurance companies either wouldn't insure at all or they were considerably more than the £300 extra. Must be the dodgy area I live in :)

The Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) is currently £269 per annum

Churchill refused to cover me this year, “no longer able to offer cover on that vehicle”.

Admiral was cheapest, £980 in the end including legal, windscreen..basically everything ticked apart from breakdown cover.

Edit: After adding on my wife's Mini EV the price reduced to £862 thanks to multicar discount.

Privilege have declined to offer renewal so I'm going back to Admiral, the cheapest on CTM at £1200 (50% more than my soon-to-expire policy).

Just insured with Admiral (after leaving them last year) for £950 on the GTS TS and same again on the Macan T (£450 multi-car saving) both Gold level. Much more expensive than last year but £££ less than elsewhere. Swings and roundabouts.

Of note, Admiral has upped its game on finally curtailing the nonsense of randomly listing all options (factory fitted or not, tracker or not etc) and providing an instant valuation of the car. Exceptionally straight-forward and no nonsense - provide your registration number and that's it for the car details in totality.

I left them last year too (after being with them and other group insures for many years). Maybe they will offer me a sensible renewal premium again, in November.

Oddly it isn't all EVs - I just did a quote on our brand new Mini Cooper SE Sport...so the highest trim and spec possible in the brand new Mini range (being delivered on Thurs) and it's come out at £306 on Admiral. It must be the Taycan specifically that's being penalised, possibly due to parts availability?

Well that's a load of BS....

I have both a Range Rover and a Taycan GTS.

I can confirm the Range Rover is approximately twice the price...

They’re averages - so someone, somewhere must be paying less.

TBF - my Taycan premium is way more than their average this year. Last year their average would have been £200 more though ?

Insurance lotto!
