I didn't think the lease company would disclose the dealership dealing with the order - good to know. I will try and find this out for mine too as the lease co. is useless at obtaining meaningful information.
Mine did. It’s a long journey for me if I wait for my i4 M50!

It’s a lot of power through 2 wheels.
  1. I’ve never been able to figure out if it’s the battery weight so substantial and placed low or 4 wheel drive (or combo of both) that has my 4S so nimble when tweaked to Sport settings but it drives & handles like a go kart on twisty county roads - so much fun … but the car is damn fast & pushing to the limits you can get caught out due to the size of the car and I’d be wary of pushing this hard on RWD (I accept not every enjoys country road faster driving just a comment after 18mths of 4S because after 3mths I’d ordered an upgrade to Taycan Turbo & added rear wheel steer too)
I agree with this but from a different angle.....

I am used to (prefer) rear wheel drive cars and have no problem at all with my RWD Taycan.

My biggest concern is braking and the weight of the car. Thats when I notice it.
Despite all the tech, you can't defy the laws of physics - and it is a heavy car.

Well you will be pleased to know I’m no closer to a decision :headbang:

Can anyone toss a coin for me?

what's on each side of the coin?
There are too many sides to this coin, that’s the problem ?

i4M50
Stick with current order, I expect will be delivered to BMW Aug / Sept realistically. Plus side, 4s performance but for a fraction of the cost, however handling potentially compromised, it struggles to put down the power. Excellent standard spec, well beyond what I could put on the Taycan.

Polestar 2
Good car, can get one within 4 months I believe (I’m without a car so useful) not a bad 2 year option.

TAYCAN
Gorgeous, I want one, but considerably more expensive than the BMW, definitely paying for the badge / handling. Delivery unsure, could be May, could be 12 months. If I get the CT, good practicality given my dog. Love the interior.

I’ve discounted the ipace (long delays and range issues) and the Mustang mach e GT (don’t like the interior, very expensive, long delays).

Have you road tested the Polestar? I rushed into getting a Tesla Model 3 Performance last March when Taycans were a 3/4 month wait as I needed a car. Tesla is now gone and Taycan GTS on order, If only I had been more patient at the time. Do you have the option to put an order in for the Taycan asap whilst the BMW order is still going. Give you a bit more time to decide whilst saving some time for delivery. Never an easy decision but in my view if you can afford the Taycan, you will probably always end up wanting one if you don't on this occasion. That's your main dilemma in my opinion.

Re placing a Taycan order and keep the BMW order open, I’m not sure I can as my employers will have to sign off on another car, although I could be wrong. I had considered this option.

re the Polestar, ive not seen one, as their dealership network is somewhat minimal. It’s a good 3 hour return trip to go and see one. My mate has one and loves it.

Unfortunately the nature of my job means my pay is variable and the c word has drilled that home big time. As long as the recovery continues, I can afford the Taycan without too many concerns, especially given the fixed costs.

Its just justifying the min £280 monthly difference between the i4 and the Taycan.

Take a trip to Polestar, you may love it. If so its worth the 3hrs and you'll get it sooner. If you don't like it order the Taycan unless that extra £3k a year is really needed elsewhere. From my experience you will always want to get one if you don't this time.

Right, mind made up.……

Just need to confirm exact spec for the order ?

RWD with performance battery

White
Slate grey <—— unsure of paint / interior
20” Turbo Aero

Exterior Design
Deletion of Model Designation
Door Mirrors
Electrically Folding Exterior Mirrors

Performance Options
Power Steering Plus
150kW DC On-Board Booster

Interior Design
Automatically Dimming Exterior and Interior Mirrors

Suspension
Adaptive Air Suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management - PASM

Parking Assistance
ParkAssist Including Surround View

Sunroof
Fixed Glass Panoramic Roof

Audio
BOSE Surround Sound System with 14 Speakers Including Subwoofer and a Total Output of 710 Watts

For the times Doggy is with me, I’ll cover / drop the back seats. The difference in quotes between the CT4 and CT4S was so tight I’d go CT4S and that would be £70 more a month, which pays for my electricity for the car, can’t justify it. This is a compromise, but a beautiful one.

any thoughts over spec appreciated, I can’t go ticking loads more boxes however.

cheers ?

It was setup up by my employer, I’m afraid I don’t know the ins and outs. I’m sure someone will know.

Yep thanks … I’m Guessing lease providers are lower priority .. ?
Yes i think your ? correct. I placed my order through company lease for a carmine red 4s perf b in may and I sold my 911 gts at the same time after two years ownership for more than I paid for it. I had no info until yesterday despite many attempts but they finally confim Feb build slot, but they got me a hybrid x5 until it arrives so I can at least be patient :)

Ouch ?
I will try and get the lease company to provide an estimate. I bet they say “place an order first.”

Classic Porsche!

I looked at a Macan and/or Cayenne once and they told me to put a deposit down. When I said I hadn’t decided they said ‘well you’ll have to decide quickly’ - I bought the X5

It’s quite involved to set up a salary sacrifice scheme which involves taxation rules/national insurance elements.

That said, Octopus Electric Dreams scheme is supposed to be almost fully administered by them so I wonder if they’d offer that to small companies….? You’d have to be an employee and pay tax via PAYE to benefit though.
