The best thing about mid-life crises is that we can stay in crisis mode for such a long long time and buy lots of cars to help us through our trauma! My next mid-life crisis car will for sure be the 718 EV (hopefully with something close to 1000 HP), and who knows, maybe even the rag-top version to evoke even more sympathy from my wife.

Very true. Never realised what a long-term positive effect a great car can have on your life until I bought a Taycan!

IMO the current gen Taycan is one of the most attractive vehicles on the road right now. I cannot think of anything that comes close, EV or ICE. I think the 911 butt is nice, but the front isn't there.

The only thing that would make me even happier is if Porsche made a Taycan Coupe. I don't need four doors.

Perhaps the upcoming Cayman E will be the sports coupe you are looking for....I am hoping it will be for me. I have signed up for one as soon as they are available....as long as they look at least as good as the Taycan

Actually, while I'm sitting alone in a meeting room waiting for the other participant to dial in, here are some more thoughts. Apologies for the double post.

1. I would *cream* my pants if Porsche actually made a Taycan Coupe
2. The only other thing holding Porsche and the Taycan back is software. Please for the love of God hire some capable UX designers and engineers. Hell I'd volunteer to do this for free. The current UX is utter trash. There are so many sensors on the vehicle you could make a killer digital experience. However Porsche is just farting about with subpar software releases.

Edit: to the dude above – maybe! my porsche journey started with me trying a Cayman in 2020, but it was too small for me as I'm 6'5". Maybe with the EVfication of the Cayman we'll get there where it's a proper EV coupe with usable space!

I agree, Porshe is missing a great opportunity. If I had been alive in the 19th century, I would have been a great horse enthusiast, similarly to my enthusiasm for sports cars currently. Horses have one thing sports cars don't have at least for now...that is they interact with you socially, as do other pets (dogs, cats, etc) One can love a horse as a social animal, and ride it too. Now, with AI, there is the opportunity for your Porsche to be your friend, and interact with you socially...
So I want my Porsche to be a smart and social as a horse.

The Fisker Karma was a hybrid, not an EV, no?

You are correct, the Fisker Karma was a hybrid with a 20.1 kWh battery, two 120 kW motors and I think a GM sourced Ecotec 4 cylinder. The Nissan dealer we purchased our Nissan Leaf from was a Fisker Karma dealer and they were trying to get us to buy both the Leaf and the Fisker Karma. Ending up passing on the Fisker Karma and purchased a 1997 Acura NSX instead.
