Hi all, I have a GTS ST arriving in Jan and I'm considering what winter tire options there are.

What do you current owners do for the winter driving season?

I switch to snow tires mounted on smaller wheels. My car has summers on 20" Taycan Turbo Aero, and winters on 19" Taycan S Aero Wheels. Nice thing about this is that winter grip is slightly better with the smaller tires, the tires themselves are cheaper, and the slight improvement in range that comes with the smaller wheel offsets very slightly the drop in range that comes with the cold weather.

Thanks, that's a good idea actually, run smaller rims with larger profile winter tires for the season.

I have 21" RS Spyder Design on order so fitting them with 21" winter tires seemed strange.

I'm running 21" Mission E's up until 3 weeks ago now 20" aftermarket rims shod in Pirelli Scorpion winter rubber (same width as 'all-seasons'). The previous owner choose an RS Spider styled rim and the offset is close to the regular wheels - at least the Taycan won't look like an RS6 on winters! We're jut getting a taste of winter now with air temps at -22C and far to much snow for this early in the season! This vehicle is up there in my top 3 vehicles for winter driving. Where colleagues have been commenting on how bad the roads are, I'm only noticing the change of colour now they're snow covered. Once these are done I'll move back to Nokians, but these are definitely providing a lot of confidence so far, combined with the extra weight of the car of course!

I have the 20 inch Tequipment Design wheels ?
Did you buy from your dealer? Do you remember how much they cost in € ? With a Turbo S on the way – I'm currently looking at 20" winter set options.

I too am looking for winter set options, but I'm a bit hesitant to the Turbo S Aero Design wheels as they are very much "covered". I like seeing the red break color, but the Turbo S wheels covers most of it.

Is there a "smart" reason to covering the wheels like this?

My second option is to go with the Tequipment Design wheels:

Wheels are a source of aerodynamic drag, so the ideal wheel for EV range purposes is a small flat plate. Very few people like the way that looks, so you get wheels like these that take an open wheel design and subtly create as much of the benefits of the plate as possible.

Makes 100% sense, but is that really that applicable to winter wheels? I can understand this being very true to summer wheels and higher speeds, but winter is (for me at least) lower speeds :)

Anyway, maybe the covered Turbo S wheels will make snow cleansing a bit easier :D

You need to confirm that 19" wheels will fit over the rotors and calipers on your particular car.

I purchased them on teile.com last winter. They were brand new with all the labels on it and cost around 5600€. My dealer asked ~7100€ for them ?

Are the Taycan Exclusive Design Wheels/tires similar in weight to the Cross Turismo Design Wheels/tires ?
I have found it to be nearly impossible to get Porsche to provide relative weights of their rims (and brake systems) It actually pissed me off during the ordering process as I was trying to decide whether the weight savings of PCCBs would be worth it (and trying not to offer those benefits by using the wrong rims). They also made it sound like the carbon fiber wings were lightweight, but I realized that was misleading when I finally got the car and saw what they really were.

The only way to really know (I think) is to weigh them. I haven't swapped my tires/rims yet. I will weigh the CT design wheels before installing and then weigh the carbon fiber tires/rims when I remove them.
