I tried to search for my previous posts on this topic, but I’ve drawn a blank…

I have a 22kw tethered Zappi charger (we have 3-phase electricity), but most of the time I just plug in on 1 phase at a rate of around 4.7kw, depending on what power the house is using. When the weather is better, the car takes power from the solar panels or Tesla powerwall, where available.

I had tried to set a timer at 85% charge level for 6:45am so that the car was ready and pre-conditioned when I leave for work. When I went to bed, the car had 69% charge, so plenty of opportunity for it to be charged at the appropriate level 8 hours later.
However, when I woke up, the car only had 71% charge (2% charge had been added at around 3am WTF?) and charging was paused.

is there an obvious reason why this isn’t working?

Suggest full 7.4kW to start with.

Ensure that your Zappi doesn't have any programming enabled as this will clash with your Porsche profile and timer (you need both).

With 3 phase to hand id go full 3.phase and charge at 11lW or 22kW if you have the upgraded onboard charger.

I have the 22kw upgrade and no profiles on the Zappi.

do you have a low rate overnight?

there are a few ways this can be done.

i have a 1 phase Zappi.

either set a profile of (say) 85% with Optimised charging option enabled (important it’s not set to preferred time window) and make sure the Zappi is in Fast mode. Car should just charge straight to 85%.

you could limit when it charges by setting Zappi to Eco+ and setting a schedule. The car will only charge when there is excess solar or you are in the schedule. Taycan will report an error in between when the Zappi is refusing to deliver power, but should be ok.

alternately leave the Zappi in Fast mode and set a timer in the Taycan. Also reduce the profile to 25%. The car should then time its charge to be ready ‘just in time’. However, if the Zappi is not in fast mode and has a schedule, then these can clash. The car could decide to delay its charge, to be ready when the Timer says so, but by that time, the Zappi may not want to supply power.

hope that helps.
